The Blockchain Group Now Holds 1,653 BTC Worth €148.9 Million

On June 18, 2025, The Blockchain Group announced an expansion of its Bitcoin holdings to 1,653 BTC. This milestone positions the Group as one of Europe’s largest public Bitcoin holders.

Notably, these holdings are maintained across its primary entity and its Luxembourg-based subsidiary, The Blockchain Group Luxembourg SA. According to the official release, this expansion reinforces its strategy as a Bitcoin Treasury Company listed on Euronext Growth Paris, with a focus on increasing its bitcoin per share over time.

Meanwhile, a recent report showed that The Blockchain Group had launched a €300 million ATM capital raise to expand its Bitcoin treasury. Managed by TOBAM, the program will offer flexibility and no intermediary fees. At that time, the company held 1,471 BTC already, and the company aims to reinforce its position amid rising institutional interest in Bitcoin.

More so, a yield of 1,173.2 percent year to date in BTC was also attested in the report wielded by The Blockchain Group. This represents a combined profit of 469.30 BTC since January 2025, approximately €43.8 million at current market values. The quarter-to-date performance reflected a gain of 354.8 BTC and a euro-denominated gain of approximately €33.1 million.

Additionally, this performance includes both asset value appreciation and new Bitcoin acquisitions. The BTC yield and euro gain have been calculated against initial holdings and tracked through reported transactions during the year. The figures underscore a sharp increase in BTC reserves, driven by targeted treasury actions and financing rounds.

Blockchain Group Convertible Bonds Enabled 166 BTC in Purchases

The firm disclosed that it had raised over €15 million through convertible bond placements to fund BTC acquisitions. These placements were executed via its Luxembourg subsidiary without preferential subscription rights.

Specifically, the company raised €3 million from UTXO Management, €4.6 million from Moonlight Capital, €2.4 million from Ludovic Chechin-Laurans, and €6 million from TOBAM. In total, this funding supported the purchase of 166 BTC.

Additionally, the conversion of 20.86 million BSA 2025-01 warrants into 2.98 million shares added 16 BTC to the treasury. Each bond tranche was issued with a conversion premium of around 30% over previous closing prices. The firm confirmed it had publicly communicated these terms in press releases dated May 26 and June 12.

Bitcoin Price Action

Amid the developments in The Blockchain Group, analyst Merlijn The Trader pointed to a repeating Bitcoin price structure that mirrors the 2024 breakout setup. Comparing charts, he notes how headline fear about the Iran-Israel war prompted a similar panic-triggered withdrawal in October 2024, as well as in June 2025. In both instances, Bitcoin price activity shaped a descending wedge, a well-known technical pattern that is associated with a bullish price reaction.

In 2024, Bitcoin broke out of this wedge a few months after a spell of fear due to geopolitical news. The surge resulted in a 60% price surge that took BTC to more than $104,000. The 2025 chart is already practically identical in its wedge pattern, with the recent prices clustering around the $104K mark. The wedge’s lower support and descending resistance trendline remain intact, and the asset has revisited key horizontal support levels in response to the latest headlines.
