  • Max Keiser made another bold Bitcoin price prediction, stating BTC will trade over $2 million due to the U.S. Debt crisis.

The United States of America is the country with the highest national debt. A reputed crypto YouTuber recently reported that the U.S.Treasury bought $2 billion in debt. This means that the Treasury has repurchased older Treasury securities.

The Treasury carries out such moves to increase liquidity, manage debt maturity, and reduce future interest costs. It can narrow targeted bonds’ spreads, increase prices, and slightly lower yields.

Financial expert Max Keiser has also warned that the growing US debt can help Bitcoin price reach above $2 million. Such warnings and claims often draw the attention of crypto enthusiasts, who do not wish to miss any profit-making opportunity.

Why is the U.S.Treasury Buying Its Own Debt?

As the U.S. government’s finance arm, the U.S.Treasury issues debt through bonds, bills, etc. Sometimes, it also buys back debt due to several reasons. It could buy old and less liquid securities for debt management.

The Treasury repurchases old securities and replaces them with new ones. It boosts market efficiency and liquidity.

The U.S.Treasury also retires debt with higher costs to refinance it at more affordable rates. It does that when interest rates decline, replacing old high-rate debt with cheaper debt.

Repurchasing debt is essential for debt management. Thus, the Treasury smoothens market functioning and lowers the borrowing cost.

The U.S.Treasury had done large-scale repurchases between 2000 and 2002. It was the time when the world’s leading economy was running a budget surplus. Large-scale buybacks have also occurred in 2025, but for different reasons.

U.S.Treasury Expands Its Buybacks Strategy in 2025

The U.S. Treasury has expanded its buyback strategy in 2025. It carried out the biggest-ever single debt repurchase in June 2025. The U.S. government repurchased government bonds valued at $10 billion.

Liquidity support buybacks, being capped at $2 billion per operation, are now 4 times per quarter. Cash management buybacks have also soared from $120 billion per year to $150 billion per year.

The Treasury market has been quite essential for global finance, but it became more fragile after 2008. The U.S. Treasury is repurchasing off–the-run securities to offer predictable liquidity. It assures investors and dealers that a safety valve still exists.

Debt Crisis Can Help Bitcoin Price Trade Above $2 Million: Max Keiser

Keiser is a reputed figure in the crypto industry. His latest BTC price prediction is much higher than his previous $220,000 prediction. Experts call it one of the most optimistic forecasts for BTC in recent months.

Some crypto users may question why the U.S. Treasury’s buying back debt may influence the Bitcoin price. As per experts, debt repurchases can lower yields. Thus, Bitcoin can emerge as a more impressive alternative.

Buybacks inject liquidity, and some of that liquidity also spills into crypto assets. The United States Treasury buying back its debt also strengthens Bitcoin’s hedge narrative against the debt risks. Therefore, it can positively influence the BTC price.
