Bitcoin Price Risks Drop As $115K Support Faces Exchange Inflows

Bitcoin price came under pressure this week due to large exchange inflows. Volatile Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) trading also tested key support levels. Analysts warned that losing $115,440 could expose the market to deeper downside levels.

Ali, a trader posting on X, identified $115,440 as the most crucial support on the BTC Pricing Bands. “Hold it, and $137,300 is next. Lose it, and $93,600 comes into play,” he wrote.

Bitcoin Price Exchange Inflows Spark Concerns

Glassnode data showed three clear waves of large inflows. Each wave topped $25 Million per block on centralised exchanges in the past 48 hours.

The latest surge coincided with Bitcoin price rejection at $117,200. This suggests a spot-driven sell-off played a role in the pullback.

Large inflows often raise concerns about potential selling pressure. Traders interpret these as signals that whales or institutions could be moving coins with an intention to exit positions.

Glassnode noted that these waves were concentrated. This underscores heightened selling activity that is intended to lower.

Liquidations Highlight FOMC Volatility

CrypNuevo, another analyst, highlighted the impact of FOMC-driven price action. He described Monday and Tuesday as “boring,” but pointed to sharp volatility on Wednesday. “$105M liquidated in 30 minutes during FOMC, that’s what’s important,” he posted.

This pattern aligned with what he called the “classic retrace of an initial false move.” Such behavior follows central bank announcements, when traders react strongly before prices return to pre-event levels.

The liquidation event underscored how quickly leveraged traders were punished during the session. With Bitcoin futures markets heavily positioned, even modest price swings triggered cascading liquidations that magnified the move.

Analysts Eye $120K But Warn of Resistance

Despite the near-term turbulence, some traders maintained a cautiously bullish view. CrypNuevo added that Bitcoin price could still retest $120,000, though volatility remained high.

Raizelxbt, another market watcher, said he was “watching this good RR” setup around $119,000–$120,000. He explained that his reasoning involved a four-hour fair value gap and the previous range’s value area high (VAH).

He expected a potential short entry if a lower high formed near that level. Such views reflect how traders are balancing optimism with risk. Upside targets remain on the table. However, order flow and distribution zones remain equally critical in shaping the short-term outlook.

Bitcoin Price Support and Resistance Define Market Debate

Ali’s $115,440 support level became a focal point across discussions. Holding this line could preserve the broader uptrend of BTC, opening the path toward $137,300.

However, sustained weakness around this threshold could flip the outlook bearish, leaving $93,600 as the next primary target.

The market’s reaction to exchange inflows added weight to the debate. If whales continue to send coins to centralized platforms, the pressure on spot prices could intensify. Conversely, stabilization above $115,000 would demonstrate resilience despite the recent sell-off.

Broader Context

The clash between support and resistance comes at a critical time for the Bitcoin price. After rallying strongly earlier in September, BTC has struggled to maintain momentum as macroeconomic events reintroduced volatility.

The FOMC session highlighted how traditional market catalysts still sway crypto assets. With liquidity thin compared to equities, sudden bursts of volatility often have amplified effects on digital assets.

The mixed trader commentary showed no clear consensus. Some see opportunities for shorts near $120,000. However, others remain confident that $115,000 will hold and provide the base for the next leg higher.

For now, BTC remains at a crossroads. The following sessions will show if buyers can hold the $115,440 level. If not, strong inflows and liquidation risk may push prices down.

As CrypNuevo noted, the market thrives on volatility, and the FOMC event reminded traders that sharp swings are always possible.

Exchange data flashes warning signs for the Bitcoin price. Traders are split between targets of $137,300 and $93,600. Price action remains highly unpredictable.
