Top market analyst Steph is Crypto on X, and has urged XRP investors to anticipate a pump in October. While the analyst noted that September is usually a fearful month in the crypto market, he claimed “Uptober” is coming for XRP holders.
Currently, the XRP coin is facing strong selling pressure, but it is also gaining attention in the sports industry.
Market Awaits the Uptober Fever for XRP Crypto
“September has always been fearful for XRP holders. Uptober is coming,” Steph is Crypto wrote on X.
His comments underline historical trends in the crypto market during September and October. Historically, most top cryptocurrencies, including XRP, experienced weak prices in September.
In the September 2025 context, the Ripple-backed coin is up slightly by 1.3% on the monthly chart. However, the daily and weekly declines amplify investors’ anxiety.

Over the past day, the price of XRP has plunged slightly by 1.02% to $2.85, according to CoinMarketCap data. XRP also decreased by 0.05% over the past week.
Nevertheless, a possible XRP bullish price reversal is lurking in October, according to Steph is Crypto.
The analyst is not alone, as the market usually celebrates October as a historically bullish month for crypto.
“Uptober,” as many call October, is the opposite of the gloom seen in September. Hence, it signals a potential reversal of the Q4 bull run.
For XRP, bullish predictions are already strong, especially considering potential approvals of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in October. Analysts anticipate the coin to rally toward $3–$3.15 following the approval of an XRP ETF.
Currently, five different XRP spot ETF applications could receive approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in October. These include funds from Grayscale, 21Shares, Bitwise, Canary Capital, and WisdomTree.
Possible XRP Crypto Manipulation/Suppression at Play?
Amid the bullish “Uptober” fever, another analyst, EGRAG CRYPTO, has raised a bearish outlook for XRP.
EGRAG CRYPTO shared the XRP/USD chart from TradingView, highlighting a bearish signal on the lower time frame (LTF).

The analyst pointed out that the delta is at -200% and buys are sitting at zero. This means that the selling volume massively outweighed the buys in that candle.
EGRAG CRYPTO questioned the odds that the market’s buy side had vanished, with no one stepping in to absorb the selling.
The analyst, therefore, suggested that the drying up of buy orders is likely due to manipulation or selling pressure.
Although this is not everyday volatility, the selling pressure may be from whales who are dumping their assets.
NBA Players Eye XRP for Investments
Beyond crypto cycles and traditional finance, XRP is gaining attention in the sports industry.
In a recent interview, NBA champion Tristan Thompson revealed that his fellow players are discussing XRP in private group chats.
According to Tristan, teammates in group chats are asking whether to buy more XRP every time the price rallies.
However, he said the advice to them is to push for the long term. Tristan urged players to bet on XRP just as they did to get to the NBA.
He compared it to grinding through slumps on the court. This validation from a top NBA player could help boost the price of XRP, as more users adopt the coin.
The NBA champion also encouraged his colleagues to diversify their crypto portfolios.
Tristan envisions a future where traditional banks will become less relevant in favor of financial management through digital wallets. He believes this shift will transform how new generations interact with money.
Although a strong Bitcoin (BTC) supporter, Tristan often mentions the Ripple-backed coin as a top choice for crypto investments.
He also compared cryptocurrencies to basketball legends, associating different coins and tokens with them.
