Fidelity’s $154M Ethereum Purchase Reinforces Market Confidence
Ethereum (ETH) price steadied above $4,100 on Oct. 15 after major institutional inflows reignited optimism across the market. According to Whale Insider and Ted Pillows, Fidelity clients bought $154.6 million worth of Ethereum, contributing to a total ETF inflow of $236.2 million in a single day.

The large-scale purchase marked one of the biggest daily Ethereum inflows since the start of the fourth quarter, signaling renewed investor appetite following last week’s correction.
“That Martini Guy ₿” reported similar data, emphasizing Fidelity’s role in driving institutional participation: “$ETH ETF saw an inflow of $236,200,000 yesterday. Fidelity bought $154,600,000 in Ethereum.”
The news reinforced a bullish tone around Ethereum, with many analysts viewing the inflows as evidence of strong accumulation rather than speculative buying.
Ethereum Price USD Structure Points to $5K Target
Ethereum traded near $4,194, up 1.6% on the day, after briefly dipping below the $4,000 mark last week. The rebound was backed by growing institutional demand and a technical setup that continues to favor upside potential.

Gordon (@AltcoinGordon) said the market structure had changed but “the plan didn’t,” predicting ETH would reach $5,000 next. His chart indicated that the asset had completed a corrective phase and was preparing for another upward leg toward new yearly highs.
The daily chart from TradingView confirmed strong support near $4,000, with resistance levels forming between $4,250 and $4,450. The 50-day simple moving average (SMA) hovered around $4,342, while the 200-day SMA remained well below at $3,151, maintaining a bullish bias.
If ETH breaks above $4,450, the next psychological barrier sits near $5,000—a level last tested during its 2021 rally.
Institutional Demand Fuels Renewed Bullish Momentum
The timing of Fidelity’s purchase appears to have strengthened market sentiment just as Ethereum stabilized from recent volatility. The inflows underscore growing institutional participation in the Ethereum ecosystem, particularly through exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Institutional inflows of this scale often act as catalysts for price strength by reducing liquid supply and signaling confidence in Ethereum’s long-term outlook. Historically, similar buying activity has coincided with bullish reversals, as seen in early 2021 and mid-2024.
The latest data adds to this narrative, showing Ethereum’s market resilience amid global liquidity shifts and risk appetite recovery. Large entities like Fidelity typically accumulate during consolidation phases, anticipating future price appreciation as macro conditions stabilize.
For now, the combination of ETF inflows, improving on-chain metrics, and reduced exchange balances continues to paint a positive picture for Ethereum’s medium-term performance.
ETH/BTC Pair Signals Brewing Altseason Momentum
The ETH/BTC pair provided another bullish signal for traders watching the altcoin market. As Ash Crypto observed, Ethereum “made a clear trendline retest after breaking out,” indicating the pair may soon outperform Bitcoin.

“Altseason is not cancelled it’s brewing from here,” Ash added, reflecting optimism about Ethereum’s growing strength relative to Bitcoin.
Historically, such retests on the ETH/BTC chart have preceded periods of heightened altcoin performance, suggesting potential capital rotation from Bitcoin into major alternative assets. This dynamic aligns with Ethereum’s current technical setup, where sustained gains above $4,000 could fuel broader market participation.
Market Outlook: $4,450 Resistance Defines Next Move
While Ethereum’s fundamentals and institutional backing remain strong, traders are watching the $4,250–$4,450 zone closely. A confirmed breakout above this region would likely validate bullish targets between $4,800 and $5,000.
Conversely, failure to hold $4,000 could invite renewed selling pressure, with short-term downside targets near $3,800. However, analysts argue that institutional demand and low exchange supply reduce the probability of deeper corrections.
With ETF inflows exceeding $236 million in a single day, Ethereum’s momentum appears to be building at both the technical and structural levels. Institutional investors are once again shaping the narrative, with Fidelity’s aggressive buying reinforcing market conviction.
As the broader market stabilizes, Ethereum’s position above key support levels and its improving BTC ratio could set the stage for a sustained bullish cycle through the final quarter of 2025.

At press time, Ethereum price USD traded near $4,194, consolidating above $4,000 support amid heightened institutional accumulation. Traders now await a decisive move above $4,450 to confirm the next bullish phase that could propel ETH toward $5,000 in the coming weeks.
