Ethereum L2 ‘zkSync is No Longer a Chain’: Alex Gluchowski

Alex Gluchowski shared an Ethereum news bordering on zkSync, said the Ethereum Layer 2 project is no longer a single chain.

zkSync is now described as a network of public and private chains built on Ethereum and powered by zero-knowledge cryptography.

Ethereum News: zkSync Redefines Its Role

Alex Gluchowski has clarified that zkSync is evolving its approach and how people should think about it.

A post by Nansen on X stated that zkSync recorded the highest fee growth among all chains in the past seven days, showing an increase of 694%.

However, Gluchowski explained that zkSync is no longer a single blockchain. Instead, it is evolving into a network comprising both public and private chains.

According to Ethereum news, these chains connect to Ethereum and utilize zero-knowledge cryptography for enhanced security.

Gluchowski shared this update to correct what he called a sticky misconception about zkSync. He said the goal is to build “Incorruptible Financial Infrastructure” for global use.

This means zkSync will help create a financial system that cannot be easily tampered with and that relies on Ethereum’s proven security rather than separate validators.

The change demonstrates how zkSync is moving closer to Ethereum while maintaining its own role in enhancing transactions and reducing costs.

It also suggests that zkSync aims to serve both open blockchain users and large organizations that prefer private chains, yet still require the security of Ethereum.

Ethereum’s Scaling Progress Boosts zkSync

Ethereum’s network has seen strong growth in performance in recent weeks.

Blockchain analyst Joseph Young noted that Ethereum is now processing more than 19,000 transactions per second.

He said this record speed comes from improvements on Layer 2 networks such as zkSync.

Young pointed out three reasons behind Ethereum’s rise in speed. First, L2s are creating rollup-based tools that enable faster transactions.

Second, Ethereum itself continues to release upgrades that improve its system. One of these is the Fusaka update, which introduces peer data features to enhance performance.

Third, research groups like Brevis ZK are exploring new ways to scale Ethereum through parallel and zero-knowledge methods.

Moreover, this wave of development demonstrates that Ethereum’s scaling efforts are yielding results.

More activity is taking place on L2 platforms, which help reduce congestion on the main network.

zkSync is one of the projects benefiting from this shift. Its use of zero-knowledge proofs allows transactions to be verified quickly and cheaply.

This happens without giving up the security that comes from Ethereum’s base layer.

Ethereum Seen as a Base for Future Finance

In another Ethereum news, many industry analysts see Ethereum ETH as the center of future digital finance.

Raoul Pal and others have compared Ethereum to a global computer that can host financial systems, markets, and digital ownership.

They argue that Ethereum’s security and track record make it the natural choice for high-value assets and applications.

Pal said that Bitcoin will always have a place, but Ethereum offers a platform for broader innovation through smart contracts.

He also noted that Ethereum’s large number of developers and validators make it one of the most secure networks in existence.

This is why, according to him, the most valuable NFTs and decentralized finance (DeFi) projects still remain on Ethereum.

Thomas Lee from FSInsight.com added that Ethereum is where Wall Street will build. This shows that traditional finance might also look to Ethereum-based systems.

zkSync’s new direction as a network fits this view. It aims to provide the tools and security needed for companies, developers, and users to build financial systems on Ethereum with less risk and lower costs.

Gluchowski’s message marks a turning point for zkSync. Market watchers believe that by moving away from a single chain, it is positioning itself as part of Ethereum’s wider infrastructure.

This new structure could help it attract more users and partners who want to build secure, scalable solutions connected to the Ethereum network.
