Bitcoin Price Nears Breakout as ETF Inflows Defy Fed Pressure

Bitcoin held near $64,000 on Friday after U.S. spot funds recorded their strongest inflows in three weeks. The Bitcoin price remained below resistance as traders assessed tighter Federal Reserve signals and steady institutional demand.

The divergence mattered because fund demand improved while spot momentum remained weak. ETF purchases reduced immediate selling pressure, yet buyers failed to reclaim the upper trading range.

Investors weighed persistent fund accumulation against a macro backdrop that discouraged aggressive risk positioning across crypto markets.

Bitcoin Price Holds Near $64,000 After ETF Demand Returns

CoinGecko data placed Bitcoin near $64,000 on July 31, with a $1.28 trillion market value. The price of Bitcoin traded within a $63,886 to $65,305 daily range. Weekly performance remained negative, while daily trading volume stood near $26.6 billion.

SoSoValue data showed U.S. spot Bitcoin funds attracted $233.1 million on Thursday. That marked their strongest daily intake in over three weeks. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust received $183.4 million, representing nearly four-fifths of total inflows.

Bitwise’s Bitcoin ETF added $20.7 million, while Fidelity’s fund received $15.5 million. Those purchases lifted weekly net inflows to $203.84 million before Friday’s session.

The monthly position also improved after two difficult months for fund demand. July net inflows reached $437.8 million after Thursday’s activity. Friday’s result will determine whether the products record a fourth consecutive positive week.

Bitcoin Price Faces Repeated Rejection Below $65,700

Crypto trader That Martini Guy said Bitcoin faced two rejections from the same resistance zone. He identified $65,700 as the level buyers had to convert into support.

His chart placed the next upside area around $67,200 after a confirmed breakout. However, repeated failures below resistance showed that buyers had not regained market control.

CoinGecko’s seven-day range supported that assessment. Bitcoin peaked near $65,745 during the period but failed to maintain that area. The lower boundary remained near $62,785, leaving the asset inside a compressed range.

The analyst identified $64,000 as the nearest support level. A sustained hold could preserve the range and permit another resistance test. A breakdown would shift attention toward the stronger $62,000 to $63,000 demand zone.

Bitcoin Price Reacts to Hawkish Federal Reserve Vote

The Federal Open Market Committee held rates between 3.5% and 3.75% on July 29. Federal Reserve records showed officials approved the decision through a 9-3 vote.

Beth Hammack, Neel Kashkari, and Lorie Logan opposed the decision. Each official preferred a quarter-point increase, creating a more hawkish split than markets expected.

The Federal Reserve said inflation remained above its 2% target. Officials cited energy-linked supply shocks and uncertainty tied partly to Middle Eastern conflict. The statement also described economic activity as expanding at a solid pace.

XWIN Research Japan said Bitcoin entered the meeting without strong directional positioning. Its review placed the taker buy-sell ratio near 1.0, showing balanced aggressive trading.

The research firm also reported a mild short bias in perpetual futures. Sellers repeatedly failed to force the BTC crypto below the $62,000 to $63,000 support band.

Positive funding rates showed continuing demand for leveraged long positions. However, that setup left crowded traders exposed to forced liquidations during sudden declines.

XWIN also said exchange inflows remained low before the decision. The reading offered little evidence of holders preparing broad spot-market sales. Post-meeting volatility therefore reflected repricing rather than heavily bearish positioning.

Bitcoin ETF Flows Support Demand but Not a Breakout

Institutional fund demand continued across several crypto products, although flows remained uneven. That Martini Guy cited $49.74 million of Bitcoin ETF inflows in another daily update.

The same update placed Ether fund outflows at $2.95 million. Solana products gained about $404,000, while XRP funds received $5.98 million.

Those figures showed capital favored Bitcoin and XRP during that session. Still, ETF inflows did not push Bitcoin above established resistance. The separation suggested institutional purchases supported the range without creating enough immediate spot demand.

The Federal Reserve will publish minutes from its July meeting on Aug. 19. Before then, traders will watch $64,000 support and $65,700 resistance. A confirmed close outside either level would provide the next verifiable directional signal.
