Robinhood stock has pulled back from its September high as crypto-linked equities face renewed pressure before a key U.S. regulatory vote.
HOOD reached $125.25 on Sept. 8 before retreating toward the $114 area. That places the stock roughly 9% below its monthly high rather than more than 10%.
The decline has coincided with weaker crypto markets and falling expectations that the CLARITY Act will become law this year. Meanwhile, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev remains locked in a public dispute with AMC Entertainment CEO Adam Aron over tokenized stocks.
Vlad Tenev and Adam Aron Feud Continues
HOOD stock has retreated and moved into a technical correction as some people start to question the real-world asset (RWA) tokenization technology.
The most vocal critic has been Adam Aron, the CEO of AMC, the giant movie theatre company. In a recent statement, Aron blasted tokenized assets, noting that they were not registered under US securities laws. He also said that tokenized assets are contemptible, outrageous, and illegal.
In his response, Vlad Tenev, Robinhood’s CEO and founder, said that companies with tradable stocks had no say in tokenized stocks. His argument is that shareholders have the transferable rights to the stocks and should have the ability to create products that reference them.
He also noted that holders of tokenized stocks don’t have rights that real investors have such as voting rights. That is because the tokens are structured as debt securities backed by the underlying shares.
The ongoing feud comes at a time when Robinhood is banking on tokenization to increase access to financial services. It has already become one of the biggest companies in the tokenization industry, offering thousands of stocks to its European clients.
Most recently, the company launched Robinhood Chain, a layer-2 network built on Arbitrum. One of the main goals of this chain is to facilitate tokenized assets.
The latest data shows that it has become one of the fastest-growing chains in the crypto industry, with its total value locked (TVL) approaching $1 billion. Its RWA assets have jumped to over $278 million.
Robinhood Stock Falls as Odds of CLARITY Act Passing Retreats
Meanwhile, HOOD stock is falling as traders bet against the CLARITY Act passing in the Senate and becoming law. President Donald Trump made a major concession in that he will allow the ethics part of the bill. This section says that regulators and politicians with close proximity to the financial services industry will be barred from creating tokens.
These concerns emerged after Trump and his family members launched several crypto projects. Trump launched the TRUMP meme coin and World Liberty Financial, while Trump Media is one of the biggest Bitcoin holders.
Despite the concessions, traders are betting that the bill will not become law this year. Polymarket places these odds at just 14%.
Robinhood Markets is exposed to the CLARITY Act because of its large crypto business. It offers tokens on its platform and on Bitstamp, the mid-size crypto exchange it acquired last year. The act would make it easy for the company to operate by simplifying regulatory issues.
Robinhood Stock Price Technical Analysis

The daily chart shows that the HOOD stock has rebounded from the year-to-date low of $63.65 in March to a high of $125. It has recently retreated to the current $109, filling the fair value gap (FVG) it formed earlier this year.
On the positive side, the stock remains above the 200-day moving average, a sign that bulls have prevailed. Also, it has formed a megaphone pattern, consisting of two ascending, diverging trendlines.
Therefore, the stock will likely remain under pressure for a while before bouncing back later this year. In this, it may retest the lower side of the megaphone at $100 and then stage a strong comeback.
