El Salvador’s Bitcoin Office Director’s Optimism
El Salvador’s Bitcoin office director, Stacy Herbert, tweeted that despite securing a deal with the IMF, nothing has changed; Bitcoin remains legal tender in the country.
Following that, she expressed optimism in a subsequent tweet. She predicts that other nations, including the U.S. under a potential Trump administration, might follow El Salvador’s example.
Herbert also emphasized growing investor confidence in El Salvador’s ability to meet its financial obligations, is due to the rising value of the country’s strategic Bitcoin reserves. She believes that the country’s strong relationship with investors will continue to strengthen through 2025 and beyond.

Several hours ago, Stacy Herbert tweeted that no society in history has ever achieved a transformation like El Salvador’s. She highlighted the country’s remarkable shift from difficult times to a period of prosperity. Is what calling it the ‘greatest, most profound transformation ever…’.
Herbert expressed confidence that this is just the beginning, with even more positive developments on the horizon for El Salvador.

Additionally, the recent purchase of 11 Bitcoins marks the beginning of an ambitious plan by El Salvador to acquire an additional 20,000 coins. If successful, this acquisition would position the country as one of the largest institutional holders of Bitcoin.
According to Max Keiser, this target would bring El Salvador’s total Bitcoin holdings to around 26,000 BTC. Which would be valued at over $2.5 Billion based on current prices.
IMF Says El Salvador Has Mitigated Their Bitcoin-related Risks & Concerns
Last Wednesday, the IMF approved a $1.4 Billion loan for El Salvador. However, the deal came with new terms for the country’s Bitcoin policies. Under the agreement, El Salvador must restrict tax payments to U.S. dollars.
IMF spokesperson Julie Kozack confirmed that upcoming legal changes would make Bitcoin acceptance optional for private businesses.

Despite these new conditions, El Salvador’s government moved quickly to assert its freedom over Bitcoin policy. It announced further Bitcoin purchases to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to cryptocurrency adoption, regardless of external pressures.
Moreover, the IMF’s softened stance reflects a change in its approach to El Salvador’s Bitcoin experiment.
The organization acknowledged that many of its earlier concerns about financial and legal risks were not fully addressed before. However, with the new loan conditions now in place, those Bitcoin-related risks have been mitigated. This shift comes as El Salvador continues to solidify its position as a global Bitcoin hub.
Market Analysis With El Salvador’s Accelerating Accumulation
Some experts argue that the alt season has already begun, while others believe it’s just around the corner. One analyst, however, has shared an intriguing theory on X.

The analyst Max along with other experienced crypto traders pointed out are closely monitoring the relationship between Bitcoin and Ethereum as key market indicators align. The analyst believes historical patterns provide valuable insights.
He highlighted Ethereum’s (ETH) price movement relative to Bitcoin (BTC). He noted that ETH tends to reach its lowest point against BTC in the fourth quarter of Bitcoin halving years. This pattern has been consistent in past cycles, and with 2025 on the horizon, the analyst suggests we may see a shift in market dynamics soon.
This insight is particularly relevant in light of El Salvador’s Bitcoin accumulation strategy.
Per the analyst, once Ethereum bottoms out against Bitcoin, the market could enter a phase where altcoins outperform Bitcoin.
This could amplify the impact of El Salvador’s ongoing Bitcoin purchases, as increased demand for Bitcoin often drives up prices across the entire cryptocurrency market.
