Raydium Price Plunges 22.9% Amid Pump.fun’s AMM Launch Plans

Key Insights:

  • Raydium price dropped from $4.40 to $3.30, marking a 22.9% decline in 24 hours.
  • Market cap and trading volume fell 22.5% as Pump.fun prepares to launch an Automated Market Maker (AMM).
  • Analysts suggest the decline is due to speculation rather than changes in Raydium’s core functionality.

A news report that Pump.fun is preparing to launch an Automated Market Maker (AMM) triggered Raydium price to plummet by 22.9% until it reached $3.30 levels.  According to CoinGecko, the token dropped from $4.40 earlier in the day before the market devalued the cryptocurrency by 22.5% and reduced market volume.

After the Pump.fun announcement to introduce its automated market-making system, RAY dominance in Solana Decentralized Finance is uncertain. The ecosystem expansion by Pump.fun, which specializes in token creation and trading tools, produces market speculation regarding the potential diversion of trading liquidity from Raydium.

Pump.fun’s AMM Sparks Concerns Over Raydium Price Stability

The launch of Pump.fun’s AMM network is expected to decrease Raydium trading volume and consequently the price stability. According to market analysts, the long-term market activity on the platform might decrease because Pump.fun successfully encourages users to deposit funds into its internal liquidity pools.

Skott, an expert crypto analyst, predicts that Raydium’s price trading volume might decline all the way down to $500 million or lower due to Pump.fun’s AMM testing on Solana.  According to a Dune Analytics report, the increasing power of Pump.fun led to noticeable changes in Raydium’s acivity.

The Raydium price has fallen by up to 31%, which shows that investors approach this news with caution. The market reaction shows potential risks for the token’s position, but analysts suggest market speculation is responsible for this response rather than fundamental platform changes.

Raydium’s Role in Solana DeFi and Competitive Pressure

As the top decentralized exchange (DEX) on Solana, Raydium provides high-speed transactions alongside deep liquidity. Using an AMM combined with order book technology enables the token to become the main platform for automated trading together with DeFi transactions.

Despite Pump.fun’s expansion, RAY continues to play a key role in Solana’s DeFi sector. The platform has built a strong user base and maintains a significant portion of Solana’s liquidity provision. However, with new platforms entering the space, it faces increasing competition for market share and trading volume.

RAY remains fundamental to Solana’s DeFi sector despite Pump.fun expanding its operations. The token succeeded in gathering numerous users, which has allowed it to sustain substantial liquidity pools across the Solana network. However, growing competition from new platforms in the market puts pressure on the token’s price as it works to defend its market share and trading volume.

Meanwhile, the downward movement of Raydium prices shows that users remain doubtful regarding how Pump.fun’s AMM solution will modify Solana’s liquidity distribution patterns.  If it attracts more trading volume, it has the potential to decrease Raydium’s position as a dominant decentralized finance market leader.
