Bitwise Solana ETF Debuts With $69.5M Inflows, Offers 7% Yield

In a breakthrough development, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved a spot Solana ETF from asset manager Bitwise. The Bitwise ETF, trading with the ticker BSOL, attracted a massive $69.5 million in inflows on the very first day. This milestone highlights Solana’s growing presence in the U.S. capital market.

Bitwise Solana ETF Makes Strong Wall Street Debut

Bitwise Asset Management made a powerful debut on Wall Street for its new Bitwise Solana ETF (BSOL). The BSOL fund offers direct exposure to Solana (SOL) while providing on-chain staking via Helius, targeting an annual yield of approximately 7%. The ETF features a 0.20% management fee, making it one of the most cost-efficient crypto funds on the market.

Helius is a key Solana infrastructure platform and powers platforms like Jupiter, Phantom, and Coinbase. Currently, they manage over 13 million staked SOL, ensuring high performance and reliability.

The launch marks the next phase of crypto ETF expansion, extending beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum. This clearly highlights rising institutional interest in Solana’s DeFi and NFT ecosystems. With Bitwise now managing more than $15 billion in assets, the firm’s growing suite of crypto investment products reflects the accelerating mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies. Speaking on the development, Bitwise noted:

Solana is a key platform for enabling capital markets to come onchain and is perfectly positioned for this moment. Now, investors can get exposure to its growth potential and 7% average staking rewards with BSOL. Solana is poised to enter the mainstream, and we believe it’s just getting started.

Experts Cheer the Bitwise Solana ETF Launch

Bloomberg ETF strategist Eric Balchunas noted that the Bitwise Solana ETF (BSOL) recorded $59.5 million in first-day inflows, making it the largest ETF launch of 2025 so far.

Balchunas highlighted that BSOL’s debut surpassed other recent launches, including XRPR, SSK, IVES, and BMNU. This underscores the strong investor demand for Solana-based products. He added that the fund was seeded with $220 million, and if that capital had been fully deployed on the first day, total inflows could have reached around $280 million, exceeding the launch of the Ether ETF (ETHA) earlier this year.

The strategist called it a “strong start either way,” signaling growing institutional appetite for diversified crypto ETF offerings.

Furthermore, asset manager Bitwise has announced that it would stake 100% of the SOL held in the newly launched ETF. However, some experts have been raising concerns about what happens in the case of significant ETF redemptions. Also, what if there’s not enough SOL liquidity to meet this redemption demand?

Popular market expert Nate Geraci stated that the Bitwise filing already addresses this matter. Bitwise announced a contingency plan to address potential liquidity challenges. They explained that the Solana Network operates on an epoch-based staking system where each epoch lasts approximately two days. When investors initiate unstaking requests, these requests are queued and only processed at the end of the current epoch.

Thus, if an unstaking request is submitted just after a new epoch begins, investors must wait nearly a full epoch before the network transitions their staked Solana to an inactive, withdrawable state.

Will SOL Price Recover Past $200 Soon?

Despite the Solana ETF news, the SOL price has remained below the crucial resistance level of $200. As of now, SOL is trading at $198, with daily trading volumes surging 27% to $7.45 billion. This highlights a strong bullish sentiment among traders and investors. On the other hand, the SOL futures open interest surged 5%, shooting past $10 billion, according to Coinglass data.

Crypto analyst Ali Martinez reported that investors have accumulated approximately 24.5 million Solana (SOL) tokens around the $189 price level, identifying it as a major support zone to watch.

Martinez suggested that the concentration of buying activity at this level could provide a strong price floor for SOL in the near term.
