Coinbase Adds Solana DEX Swaps and Expands Support for USDC; Here’s All

Solana DEX trading has been integrated into the Coinbase app, allowing users to swap Solana tokens on-chain while paying with USDC. The update marks a new stage in Coinbase’s plan to integrate centralised services with decentralised execution across multiple networks.

Native Solana DEX Swaps Arrive Inside Coinbase

Coinbase has activated native Solana DEX swaps in its application, enabling users to trade Solana-based tokens directly within the app environment. Protocol specialist Andrew confirmed that the exchange switched on support for direct, on-chain swaps that route through Solana liquidity.

Users can now fund these trades with USDC and also through traditional payment options, including cash balances, linked bank accounts, and debit cards. The feature connects to Solana’s trading ecosystem while keeping Coinbase’s familiar interface as the entry point for retail users.

This launch extended Coinbase’s earlier DEX rollout, which began in August, starting with Base-network assets. At that time, the company said Solana would be added later, and the latest release completes that roadmap ahead of schedule. Coinbase stated that more DEX-supported tokens will be introduced one at a time as liquidity and demand grow.

The in-app DEX feature operates in conjunction with Coinbase’s existing spot market, but shifts execution to the blockchain. Users keep control of assets in self-custody arrangements tied to the DEX workflow, addressing growing interest in on-chain trading and reduced reliance on custodial order books.

USDC Settlement and Expanding Solana Product Stack

The new Solana DEX swaps place USDC at the centre of Coinbase’s on-chain trading experience. Traders can settle Solana token swaps directly in USDC while still having the option to add funds through cash, banking rails, or cards. This structure gives a single stablecoin reference point while connecting to wider fiat gateways.

Beyond DEX swaps, Coinbase broadened its Solana product stack over recent months. The company announced plans to acquire Vector, an on-chain trading platform built on Solana that tracks new tokens as they appear on-chain or via launchpads.

Elsewhere, Coinbase introduced futures contracts for Dogecoin and other altcoins and expanded institutional staking through Coinbase Prime’s deal with Figment. That partnership includes support for Solana staking, providing an additional route for clients to gain yield exposure to the network.

Bridge Debate as Coinbase Deepens Solana Integration

Coinbase’s deeper Solana push comes shortly after the launch of a Base–Solana bridge built with Chainlink’s interoperability protocol. The bridge enables users to transfer SPL tokens into Base applications and exchange liquidity between the ecosystems.

Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko argued that bridges can act as value-capture layers and urged Base Builders to consider shifting computation toward Solana for closer alignment.

Solana community member Vibhu noted that the new Solana DEX support inside Coinbase changes the role of the Base–Solana bridge. In his view, the original case for the bridge was to route Solana tokens into Base, allowing them to reach new holders through Coinbase’s reach. Since users can now buy and trade Solana tokens directly on-chain within Coinbase, that routing purpose appears less central.

Despite these debates, the Coinbase and Base teams maintained that the bridge had undergone months of development and responded to demand from builders on both sides.

Strategy and Solana Price Prediction After DEX Launch

The Solana DEX expansion lands during a period of lower spot trading volumes across Coinbase’s core business. In earlier earnings updates, the company reported reduced spot activity and stronger competition from U.S. rivals, including Robinhood and Kraken. By pushing more on-chain services, Coinbase aims to meet user demand for self-custody while keeping activity inside its app stack.

Internationally, Coinbase added new footholds through recent launches. The firm rolled out Coinbase Business in Singapore and reopened registrations in India, with plans to restore local fiat support by 2026.

Meanwhile, Solana price trades in a liquidity-driven range as traders study key zones on the four-hour chart. Price recently tapped buy-side liquidity near $141, saw a rejection, and moved back toward a fair value gap and demand area below.

Analysts are watching the band around $124 to $126, where a sweep of weak lows could set the stage for the next bounce if buyers step in. Below that, support closer to $120 remains a key reference level as markets react to Coinbase’s latest announcement of Solana DEX support.
