Binance Eyes Strong US Return Amid $1.17 Trillion Inflow This Year

World’s largest crypto exchange, Binance, is considering returning to the US, according to a recent report from Bloomberg. The report builds on speculations about the exchange reentry into the US. This has intensified since the pardon of its co-founder, Changpeng Zhao.

Many market observers believe that President Trump’s pardon of Zhao will open the doors for the exchange into the US. Binance’s presence in the US has become almost non-existent since getting fined $4.3 billion in 2023.

Binance Explores Strategies for a Potential US Return

According to  Bloomberg, Binance is currently working on its strategy to re-enter the US market. While the exchange has gained a global foothold, it has struggled to regain a sizable share of the US market.

However,  all that looks set to change with President Trump’s pro-crypto administration. There appears to be a close relationship between Binance and the Trump Family. However, both parties have denied such a relationship.

Before Zhao’s pardon, Binance backed USD1, the stablecoin for the Trump Family-affiliated crypto project World Liberty Financial. The exchange remains the largest holder of USD1. It secured that position after receiving a $2 billion investment from the Abu Dhabi Investment Fund in the stablecoin.

Since Zhao’s pardon, that relationship appears to have only deepened. Binance recently listed multiple trading pairs of the stablecoin against popular cryptocurrencies.

Meanwhile, Zhao himself has been vocal in his support for President Trump and his pro-crypto policies in the US. He stated at the recent Binance Blockchain Week that he aims to make America the capital of crypto. This echoed a similar sentiment expressed by Trump.

However, it is unclear how the exchange plans to do this. According to the report citing close sources, strategies being considered include recapitalization to reduce Zhao’s majority stake.

The report added that the crypto exchange is even considering strengthening its relationship with BlackRock. While it is unclear what the discussion is about, close sources say they are discussing revenue sharing and new products.

Still, any attempt to enter the US may prove complicated. The challenge stems from the lack of a federal framework for licensing crypto exchanges. States currently issue licenses for exchanges, but this could change if the Market Structure Bill becomes law.

Binance Sees $1.17 Trillion in Inflows as Kaiko Warns of Centralization

Meanwhile, Binance’s efforts to gain entry in the US follow its record-breaking inflow of capital. According to CryptoQuant, the exchange received a $1.17 trillion inflow in 2025. This represents a 31% year-over-year increase.

This makes the exchange the primary point of entry for capital into the cryptocurrency market. It beats Coinbase, which has $948 billion in inflows.

The exchange has also recently surpassed 300 million users globally and has seen massive trading volume. This is most evident in derivatives, where perpetual futures volume reached $24.6 trillion.

Unsurprisingly, Binance’s dominance has raised red flags in some circles. Crypto research firm Kaiko has recently warned that this poses a concentration risk for the entire industry.

The firm noted that Binance does not currently hold a license in the US or Europe. It also pointed out that the exchange has been convicted of money laundering in the US. It believes that these issues pose a systemic risk to the crypto sector.
