XRP Price Downside Could Be Limited As XRP ETF Inflows Cross $1B

Ripple’s native coin XRP lost its crucial $2.0 support during the broader crypto market correction. This drop pushed the XRP price into a more vulnerable zone for traders.

However, amid strong inflows into spot XRP ETFs, market analysts are confident that the downside could be limited from here. Investors are waiting on the sidelines for a clear directional move in the altcoins.

XRP Price Sees Partial Retracement From Support

After losing $2.0 levels, the XRP price dropped to the next support line at $1.88 and bounced back from there. Market analyst TARA said XRP has already completed a 0.382 Fibonacci retracement near the $1.95 level.

However, Bitcoin has only partially completed its own retracement. With XRP following BTC’s trajectory, it could temporarily disrupt XRP’s short-term price structure.

According to the analyst, a breakdown below $1.916 could expose XRP to lower-timeframe support around $1.90. TARA added that a further retest of the $1.88 level is still possible if prices remain below $2.00.

With Bitcoin continuing to be in the corrective phase, TARA believes that XRP’s price action may remain volatile.

The analyst stated that if Bitcoin moves toward its 0.382 retracement level near $88,800, XRP could begin recovering. This move could push it back toward the $2.00 resistance zone. However, as long as XRP price trades below $2.00, it might once again test lower support levels.

XRP Price Can See 200% Upside From Here

Another popular analyst, Dark Defender, noted that the XRP price correction could finally be behind us. The analyst predicts a massive 200% rally from the $1.88 support levels, all the way up to $5.85.

The recent price prediction from Dark Defender is based on his Elliott Wave outlook. Per the analyst, XRP has completed Wave 4 of its broader Elliott Wave cycle and is now positioned to enter Wave 5. He believes that this phase could support a rally of more than 200% from current levels.

Dark Defender said he has been monitoring the Wave 4 correction since February 13, 2025. In his breakdown, Wave A concluded near $1.60 in April, followed by Wave B peaking around $3.66 in July.

The final corrective move, Wave C, bottomed at $1.88. This, he now identifies as the confirmed low of the monthly Wave 4 structure.

He also pointed to a critical support zone between $2.22 and $1.88. He noted that the XRP price briefly traded within this range before rebounding.

Dark Defender said that the Wave 4 pullback aligned closely with the 70.2% Fibonacci level. This conclusion came from combining Elliott Wave analysis with Fibonacci retracement signals.

Thus, he stressed that the correction phase for the Ripple cryptocurrency has likely ended.

XRP ETF Inflows Continue for Over 30 Days

Inflows into spot XRP ETF have remained strong and continued for 30 consecutive days in a row. Earlier this week, on December 16, the cumulative inflows across the spot XRP ETF crossed $1.0 billion. Data from SoSoValue indicated this.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse also celebrated this development. Spot XRP ETFs recorded inflows for six straight weeks, starting in mid‑November. This steady momentum pushed total inflows above $1.01 billion.

Demand was strongest at the start of the run. During the week ending November 14, XRP ETFs recorded $243.05 million in net inflows.

Since then, however, momentum has eased. Net inflows fell to $93.57 million during the week of December 11. They then slowed even more, dropping to just $19.44 million in the week ending December 16.
