SpaceX Stock Forecast as Evercore Predicts a 65% Surge

SpaceX stock price has experienced a strong bearish trend in the past few weeks following its much-anticipated IPO. SPCX tumbled to a record low of $136, down by 40% from its highest point this month.

Still, Evercore analysts believe that the stock has more upside potential. They noted that the company has become too compelling to ignore.

Evercore Analysts Initiate SpaceX Stock Coverage With a Bullish Rating

Several Wall Street analysts have maintained bullish views on SpaceX despite the stock’s sharp post-IPO decline, citing the company’s leadership across launch services, satellite broadband and artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Evercore ISI initiated coverage with an Outperform rating and a $230 price target, implying roughly 65% upside from Monday’s closing price.

The bank’s analysts noted that the upside skew was too compelling to ignore. Notably, the analysts reiterated that, while one can debate the feasibility of certain ambitions and timelines, it was an extraordinary company that was shaping the future of humanity.

Other analysts are highly bullish on the company. They expect a twelve-month price target among analysts to be $239. Such a move would imply a 72% increase from the current level.

Gesuale’s target is substantially above the broader analyst consensus and reflects a more aggressive long-term valuation scenario rather than a near-term expectation.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Broadly, SpaceX has some good parts that may boost its stock over time. One of these is that it has a market share in key industries that will continue doing well over time.

Starlink has become one of the world’s largest satellite broadband providers, serving more than 12 million subscribers, according to the company.

SpaceX is also in the social media industry, with X having a big share. Grok has also become a key player in the AI industry, even though its market share remains relatively smaller than other companies like OpenAI and Anthropic.

Most recently, it has also entered the AI data center industry. It has received orders from companies like Google, Anthropic, and Reflection AI. All these businesses explain why analysts expect their revenue growth to surge over time.

For example, Yahoo Finance data suggests that its revenue will jump to $38 billion this year, followed by $72 billion next year.

On the other hand, the company faces some major risks ahead. That explains why its stock has tumbled after its IPO. For example, its businesses are facing substantial competition across all of its businesses. For example, despite the substantial investments, Grok has a 5% market share in the AI space.

Its data center leasing business is also competing with companies like Nebius, CoreWeave, and IREN, which boost their spending.

It is also highly overvalued, with Morningstar estimating its real value at less than $800 billion. At the same time, the company’s lock-up will expire in the next few months. This allows insiders to start selling shares. In most cases, recently launched publicly traded companies experience volatility towards the lock-up expiry.

The stock has slumped below the 50-period moving average and the descending trendline that links the highest swings since June 18. Therefore, the stock may continue to fall, potentially to the key support level of $120, before bouncing back.
