Several crypto stocks carry direct or indirect exposure to elevated U.S. interest rates. Treasury yields climbed again on Sept. 23, while Bitcoin traded near $84,000. The global crypto market capitalization fell to roughly $2.87 trillion, according to CoinMarketCap.
Circle, Coinbase and Robinhood have businesses that generate interest-linked revenue. However, higher Treasury yields do not affect all three companies equally.
The distinction between short-term and long-term yields also matters.
Circle’s stablecoin reserves primarily use short-term government securities and overnight repurchase agreements. Robinhood and Coinbase have broader sources of interest-related revenue.
Why U.S. Treasury Yields Are Rising
US bond yields are soaring amid the ongoing US debt surge. Data shows that the US public spending has surged to over $40.2 trillion, a few weeks after it crossed the $40 trillion milestone. This jump, together with the fact that the Trump administration has not put in place strategies to slash debt, have led to concerns about the US creditworthiness.
Bond yields are also rising due to higher crude oil prices, which have pushed diesel prices to an all-time high. Gasoline prices and mortgage rates have also soared this year, leading to concerns about inflation. As a result, the Federal Reserve is likely to raise interest rates this year.
Circle Stock Stands to Benefit Because of its Business Model
Circle Internet Group is the crypto company set to benefit a lot because of the rising bond yields. That’s because of its business model, which includes issuing stablecoins and investing its reserves in government bonds.
Data shows that the company’s USDC market capitalization has jumped to $75.4 billion, and this trend will continue after its latest partnership with Binance. Circle invests its reserves in short-term government bonds maturing in about 3 months. Data shows that these bonds are now yielding 4.14%, its highest level since September 2025 and much higher than the year-to-date low of 3.58%.

Therefore, assuming an average USDC market cap of $75.4 billion and a yield of 4.14%, its annual revenue would exceed $3.1 billion. Its actual revenue would be much lower due to its distribution deals, especially with Coinbase, which retains all its interest income.
On top of this, Circle is seeing a strong traction in the recently launched Arc Layer 1 launch, which has seen its stablecoin assets and total value locked (TVL) jump.
Robinhood Stock to Benefit From its Cash Holdings and Diversification
HOOD stock may also benefit from the rising interest rates for two main reasons. First, it has huge cash deposits, which enables it to make substantial sums of money in interest.
In the last earnings report, the company said that its net interest revenue jumped by 9% in the last quarter to $389 million. The company cited the rising interest-earning assets. In the first six months of the year, the net interest revenue jumped to over $748 million.
Robinhood also has a highly diversified business, which includes its fast-growing Robinhood Chain, predictions marketplace, options trading, retirement services, and tokenized assets.
Coinbase Stock to Benefit From its Stablecoin Business
Coinbase is another top crypto stock set to benefit from the ongoing bond yields surge. Its main benefit will come from its high-margin stablecoin business, which is driven by its partnership with Circle.
The most recent results showed that the average USDC held in Coinbase products, including Base, jumped by 44% to $20 billion. As a result, its stablecoin business brought in $292 million in revenue in the second quarter of the year.
Therefore, the rising interest rates mean that this revenue will continue rising in the coming months. At the same time, Coinbase has diversified its business and is now a top provider of tokenized stocks and prediction solutions.
