Cardano price is facing a key test as the Cardano Foundation advances its application for the .ada internet domain after a community vote gave the proposal about 75% support. The application moved to the next stage of the ICANN process on October 7, keeping the proposed domain on track for further review.
At the same time, ADA has pulled back from recent highs, with the token trading near $0.23 after a 9% daily decline. The price structure now leaves $0.21 as a risk if selling pressure continues.
Cardano .ada Domain Bid Moves to Next Stage
The Cardano Foundation submitted an application for .ada under ICANN’s 2026 round for new internet domains. ICANN’s October 7 list confirmed that the application had moved forward for further consideration.
The proposal followed a Cardano community vote that recorded about 75% support. The Foundation aims to give Cardano an official internet domain within the wider domain name system.
An approved .ada domain would differ from a blockchain-only naming service. The proposed extension would function alongside .com, .org and .xyz, subject to ICANN approval. The 2026 round also includes .sol, .ethereum, .btc and .bitcoin applications.
Cardano Price Faces $0.26 Resistance
Cardano price recently fell below $0.24 after reaching higher levels during a recovery that began in September. ADA had gained about 42% from September 16 before the latest decline. The token recently traded near $0.23, according to market data.
The daily chart shows ADA trading inside an ascending channel. Price reached the upper boundary before facing rejection. A move below the current area could shift attention toward lower support levels.
The $0.26 area remains a key recovery level. A move back above it would return the recent high to focus.

ADA could face further downside toward $0.21 if the rejection from the upper channel boundary remains active. The chart shows the token moving between rising support and resistance lines, with the lower boundary positioned well below the current price.
Broader market movements have also added pressure. Total crypto market capitalization fell to about $2.85 trillion in the latest session. Bitcoin dropped below $82,000, while Ethereum traded below $2,500 and XRP moved under $1.40.
Cardano Whales Increase Activity
Large ADA transactions have also increased during the recent recovery. Santiment recorded 413 transactions worth at least $100,000 in ADA during one day, marking the highest daily total since June 4.

Cardano’s social dominance also reached 1.16%, its highest level of the year, according to the supplied data. ADA previously recovered from a low near $0.19 before the latest decline.
RealFi launched on the Cardano mainnet on October 1, while Leios development and Fireblocks integration remain ongoing ecosystem developments.
.ada Approval Remains Pending
The .ada application has not received final approval from ICANN. The organization will review Cardano’s technical, financial and operational ability to run the proposed domain before making further decisions.
The Cardano Foundation has also opened registration for community members, developers and businesses seeking updates on the application. ICANN expects new domains from the current application round to begin launching between 2028 and 2030, depending on the progress of each application.
