To boost blockchain innovation in Japan, Ripple has announced a strategic partnership with Web3 Salon.
It provides up to $200,000 per startup and is intended to fund projects that are based on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).
Ripple Funds Japanese Startups Through the XRPL Japan and Korea Fund
In a bid to give a boost to early stage blockchain startups in Japan, Ripple has launched a new funding initiative through its XRPL Japan and Korea Fund. Founders creating real-world solutions on the XRP Ledger will get up to $200,000 per project from the company.
The fund is focused on startups in the areas of decentralized finance (DeFi), tokenized real world assets (RWA) and digital payment’s infrastructure.
This is part of Ripple’s larger 1 billion XRP ecosystem commitment to provide funding, technical expertise and business resources to developers. Projects that have strong market potential and technical capability will receive the grants over the next year. Ripple will select applicants in line with strategic goals and evaluate them on scalability, innovation and execution readiness.
The selected startups will not only get capital but also get access to Ripple’s blockchain professionals, partners and enterprise users’ international network.
By doing this, funded projects get the financial backing and ecosystem connections they need to launch, scale and integrate into broader financial systems. Ripple’s focus is an indication of its dedication to enhancing enterprise grade blockchain applications and expanding its footprint in Asia’s tech and finance sectors.
Web3 Salon Leads Mentorship and Regulatory Support
Web3 Salon will act as the startup mentor and provide operational guidance, while Ripple will fund the project. Founders will receive tailored support from the organization, assisting them in understanding Japan’s complex regulatory environment and fine-tuning their market readiness.
It will also help teams go from idea to implementation more effectively through one-on-one coaching, curated workshops and direct access to advisors.
In areas where many new ventures struggle in Japan, such as regulatory compliance, business structuring and investor engagement, startups will get support.
The mentorship program will also include building long-term strategies, developing local partnerships and scaling out of Japan when ready. As Web3 Salon understands the Japanese business landscape, it will be a great help for startups to meet legal standards and regulatory expectations from the beginning.
The institutional support for this partnership comes from Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Asia Web3 Alliance Japan. The initiative benefits from policy alignment, public sector engagement and additional business resources from these organizations.

National Events to Promote Visibility and Community Growth
Ripple and Web3 Salon will co-host four national events until March 2026 to promote the program and support a growing blockchain ecosystem.
XRPL-based innovations will be showcased in these events, and startups will get platforms to pitch ideas, connect with investors and engage in policy discussions. The events will be held in major Japanese cities and will be aimed at developers, regulators and institutional leaders.
Startups will be able to pitch to venture capitalists and potential business partners, opening the doors to more funding and partnerships.
One-on-one meetings in investor networking zones will provide early-stage companies with the possibility to build long-term business relationships. The goal of these sessions is to increase visibility of startups and increase access to strategic resources.
Additionally, there will be educational workshops on tokenization, international expansion and regulatory compliance at each event. Led by Ripple experts and Web3 Salon mentors, these workshops will give startups practical insights on how to operate in a highly regulated environment.
