Key Insights:
- Staked Ethereum hits all-time high at 34.8 million ETH.
- ETH reclaims $2,700 amid ETF inflows and whale accumulation.
- Nearly 29% of the ETH supply is now locked in staking contracts.
Ethereum staking reached 34.8 million ETH as the asset reclaimed $2,700. Institutional inflows and ETF optimism are driving market momentum. Nearly 29% of the ETH supply is now locked in staking contracts, reinforcing bullish trends.
Staked Ethereum Climbs to Record 34.8 Million ETH
The staking momentum of Ethereum continues to accelerate. This pushed the total amount of staked ETH to a new all-time high of 34.8 million. The figure, confirmed by Dune Analytics and supported by Beaconcha.in, represents 28.7% of the total ETH circulating supply.

The previous peak, recorded on Nov. 10, 2024, was eclipsed over the weekend. Beaconcha.in data revealed a steady rise in staked Ether in June. This uptick follows a year-long phase where holdings stayed above 33 million ETH.
The rise in staking activity suggests that holders prefer earning yield to selling ETH at current price levels. The shift in behavior reflects a growing conviction among investors, particularly as Ether’s price approaches technical breakout zones.
Ethereum Price Breakout Follows ETF Inflows and Institutional Demand
Ethereum crossed $2,700 on Tuesday, reclaiming levels last seen on May 29. The breakout led to an 8% daily gain as bulls pushed higher. They briefly surpassed a resistance zone tested four times last month.
Market optimism grew following fresh ETF inflows. On June 9, Ethereum ETFs attracted $52.7 Million in net inflows, according to Farside Investors. Meanwhile, Bitcoin ETFs saw $386.2 million enter the market, highlighting renewed institutional interest across top assets.
BlackRock’s ETHA has maintained 23 straight trading days of inflows. This uninterrupted streak is reinforcing bullish market sentiment.
Analysts See Bullish Structures Mimicking 2017 Rally
Analyst MerlijnTrader pointed to the current structure of ETH resembling the 2017 rally setup. “Breakout after reclaiming the 50 MA… 2025 has a bigger engine, more fuel, and no brakes,” he wrote in a post on X. There, he drew comparisons to the last major bull cycle.

Gert van Lagen echoed a similar view. In his post, the analyst noted that the 2-week chart of Ethereum formed a head-and-shoulder bottom with a projected target of $19,500. He also referenced a descending broadening wedge pattern as a secondary bullish setup.
Though speculative, these patterns are fueling discussions about ETH’s future. Increased staking and upcoming ETF developments add to its long-term potential.
Staked Ether ETFs Await Regulatory Green Light
The surge in staking also coincides with growing anticipation around spot Ether ETFs with staking functionality. The U.S. SEC has not approved such products, but industry insiders believe the launch may be near.
ETF provider REX Shares recently filed for a staked ETH fund using “regulatory workarounds.” Meanwhile, the Crypto Council described SEC guidance on staking as “a major step forward” for the U.S. crypto industry.
If approved, staked ETH ETFs could attract more institutional investors. They offer Ethereum exposure with staking yields, without direct network interaction.
ETH Staking Soars Despite Modest Price Recovery
Ethereum price performance has lagged behind the staking surge. Over the past two years, staked ETH grew by 77%, while the asset’s price gained roughly 50%. The divergence points to a structural shift in investor behavior, with more participants opting for long-term yield strategies.

The 34.8 million ETH currently staked represents a multi-year confidence vote in the network’s future. Inflationary ETH issuance resumed in February, but staking remains strong. Holders are prioritizing locked value over shifting into liquid assets.
Ethereum is witnessing a structural pivot. Stocking activity has already reached historic levels as the price climbs back toward $2,700.
ETF inflows, strong technical setups, and institutional demand now converge around a token increasingly positioned as a yield-bearing asset. If the SEC opens the door to staked Ether ETFs, the next wave of demand may be queuing up.
