Key Insights:
- Bitcoin dominance drops to 64.9% as capital rotates into ETH and altcoins.
- Ethereum attracts $62M in ETF inflows and surpasses BTC in trading volume.
- Solana’s tokenized RWA market hits $418M, with 631% user growth in 30 days.
Bitcoin dominance has fallen sharply to 64.9%, marking a significant breakdown and the lowest level in weeks. This decline signals a substantial shift in market sentiment as capital rotates into Ethereum and altcoins.
At the same time, Ethereum’s 24-hour trading volume surged to $59.21 Billion. It overtook Bitcoin’s $56.33 billion, while institutional inflows topped $62 Million in a single day.
Ethereum has taken center stage with ETF flows rising and whale wallets accumulating over 42,000 ETH last week.
BTC Dominance Drops Amid Technical Rejection
Bitcoin dominance in the market fell below 65% as of July 9, per TradingView data, reflecting a steep decline. Crypto analyst Ash Crypto flagged this sharp move, stating money is rotating aggressively into Ethereum and altcoins.

Simultaneously, Bitcoin faced a technical rejection near $110,000, forming a potential triple top. Crypto Patel noted this pattern and warned that Bitcoin is at a make-or-break level.
A breakout above the resistance could lead to $120,000. However, rejection might pull BTC down toward the $93,000 support.

Sentiment data from Alphractal shows that top traders hold strong short positions on BTC. This bearish stance may influence Bitcoin dominance in the broader crypto market. This continued bearish stance adds pressure to BTC while capital seeks opportunity elsewhere.
Ethereum Gains Momentum with ETF Flows and Whale Buying
Ethereum has gained significant strength both technically and fundamentally. It broke above $2,630 while attracting institutional inflows.
On July 7, BlackRock purchased over 53,000 ETH, contributing to an ETF inflow of over $62 million in one day. Fidelity also joined in, accumulating large ETH positions amid the recent dip.
Additionally, whale activity has intensified, with two wallets accumulating 42,000 ETH worth over $110 million last week.
Analysts believe this accumulation supports Ethereum’s rally and strengthens its foundation. ETH open interest surged 7.63% in 24 hours, compared to a 0.18% drop in BTC, per derivatives data.

ETH’s 24-hour trading volume hit $59.21 billion, surpassing BTC’s $56.33 billion. This shift highlights a temporary challenge to Bitcoin domination in the market.
As funding rates remain neutral and volume rises, traders are increasingly tilting long on Ethereum. The ETH/BTC pair is gaining ground, suggesting capital is flowing away from Bitcoin dominance.
Altcoin Market Heats Up with Solana and Institutional Validation
The Ethereum rotation is not the only one, as Solana and other altcoins are also rising. The real-world value of tokenized assets on Solana achieved a new high of 418.15 million. It grew 19.47% over the past 30 days.
TapTools reports a 631% surge in RWA user counts during the same period. This rapid growth reflects strong momentum in ecosystem adoption.
The on-chain use in alt L1s is growing fast. With this, Solana currently has 79 tokenized assets and 10.36 million holders of the stablecoins. It also has a stablecoin market cap of 10.27 billion and is becoming a vital infrastructure player beyond speculation.
This is making its way into the form of increased investor confidence. Actual growth stats are underpinning it. At the same time, Ethereum dominates the application and decentralized finance layers.
In 2024, ETH could dominate the volume of trading in the DEX up to 74%. Conversely, it had 21 % of deposits in the lending sphere, as stated in a report by Fidelity.
The report states that ETH acts as a store of value due to its deep role in DeFi. It also compares Ethereum to a sovereign monetary system based on its financial utility.
Moreover, the macro perspective is shifting towards additional institutional legitimization. Trump Truth Social has submitted a crypto ETF that lists BTC, ETH, XRP, and CRO. Such retrospective adoption is helping give credence to altcoins and the belief of an emerging asset type.
Along with the inflow of capital in structured investment vehicles, Ethereum is receiving the biggest beneficiary to date.
