Key Insights:
- The $PUMP ICO will distribute 33% of tokens, with 24% allocated to community and ecosystem projects.
- Bybit will host the token sale, but users from the EU will be excluded due to MiCA regulations.
- Pump.fun has generated nearly $715 million in revenue, staying competitive in the memecoin space.
Pump.fun has disclosed its token release plans. The decision is made in the backdrop of an eagerly awaited initial coin offering (ICO) of its native token, $PUMP.
The platform has restricted the maximum supply to 1 trillion tokens. The future allocation of the same will be pivotal in defining the future shape of the ecosystem in the next few months.
Allocation of $PUMP tokens will be divided into a few categories, each of which will have its own purpose. The ICO will be one of the project’s milestones since 33% of the total tokens will be distributed during the ICO.
The money obtained during the ICO will aid in maintaining the functioning of the platform and its developmental activities. Besides the ICO share, 24% will be retained to the community and ecosystem projects.
Allocations for Team and Investors
20% of the tokens will go to the Pump.fun team. This distribution would mean that the staff will be rewarded regarding their efforts in establishing and sustaining the platform.
Under the current proposal, 13% of supplied tokens should be given to current investors. This is to guarantee further participation and support.

This distribution is an appreciation of the initial investors. Together with those allocations, there will be smaller portions of the token supply dedicated to other purposes.
Pump.fun To Allocate Tokens Towards Content Creation
Some of the $PUMP tokens issued will also be used to supply particular functions of the platform. One of the platform’s most interactive features, live streaming, will receive 3% of the total token supply.
The liquidity and exchanges type will receive 2.6% of the tokens. This distribution is very important in the sense that it will keep the project’s tokens, $PUMP, liquid and easily exchangeable in various exchanges.
2.4% of the token supply will be dedicated to the ecosystem fund. This will fund development projects and partnerships at the pump.fun ecosystem, as it keeps investing in the crypto space. Finally, 2% of the tokens will be given to the foundation that will regulate the platform.
The $PUMP Token Sale Not Available to European Users
Bybit has already announced that it intends to host the $PUMP token sale.

Nevertheless, users located in the European Union will not participate in the sale because of the regulatory conditions within the European Union with the adoption of Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
The sale will start on Saturday 14:00 UTC and last till Tuesday. The 150 billion $PUMP tokens or 15 % of the total supply will be sold within this round at the fixed price of $0.004 USDT per token.
A wide selection of options will be available to potential investors as Bybit will support subscriptions using several assets such as USDT, USDC, SOL, and even bbSOL.
Pump.fun, which has been making rounds in the crypto space, has experienced immense growth in interest since being launched in January 2024. This is especially regarding its gamified user interface that enables users to create and/or trade memecoins without any coding experience.
Irrespective of the low turnover in trading quantities, Pump.fun has already achieved striking revenue amounts.

According to DefiLlama, the platform already attracted almost $715 million in total revenues with about $35 million acquired last month. These statistics show the platform’s capability to generate considerable revenue despite the fall in its activity.
