MicroStrategy Stock Decouples From Bitcoin Yield, Is MSTR To $400 Possible In 2025

Key Insights:

  • MicroStrategy’s stock underperformed against BTC Yield according to market data.
  • MSTR stock showed declining prices on the daily, weekly, and monthly charts.
  • Strategy BTC Yield is up 25.9% YTD, while the Zacks Rank shows cautiousness.

Shares of Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy (MSTR), have plunged significantly on the daily, weekly, and monthly charts. Meanwhile, Strategy’s Bitcoin (BTC) Yield has skyrocketed, putting the correlation with MicroStrategy stock in the spotlight.

This dynamic raises questions about future price implications for the MSTR future price outcomes. It also coincides with MSTR’s full-year Zacks Consensus Estimates.

MicroStrategy Stock, Weekly, Monthly, and YTD Performance

In the latest trading session, MSTR stock closed at $327.79. It was down 1.1% from the previous day, according to Google Finance data. MSTR’s daily price range was between $320.45 and $331.33. The value of MicroStrategy stock also decreased slightly by 0.74% over the past five days.

Over the past month, MSTR declined by 9.52%, underperforming the Finance sector and the S&P 500. While the broader finance sector experienced gains of 2.4%, the S&P 500 rose by 2.32%. Year-to-date (YTD), MSTR is up 13.18%, raising an optimistic outlook among investors.

However, the stock is at risk of further downside after forming a death cross pattern on the daily timeframe chart. It is in addition to the mNNAV metric slumped.

Besides, Strategy dropped to a low of $330, down by almost 30% from its highest level this year. The MSTR share price is not moving in the same direction as the value of its reported BTC Yield.

The Bitcoin Yield Boost and Projections

Michael Saylor, co-founder and Chairman of Strategy, recently announced that the firm has added more BTC to its balance sheet. According to Saylor, Strategy acquired 525 BTC for approximately $60.2 million, at an average price of $114,562 per Bitcoin.

As of September 14, 2025, the company holds 638,985 BTC, acquired for a total of $47.23 billion. These coins were purchased at an average price of $73,913 per BTC.

Alongside the BTC purchase, Strategy reported a BTC Yield of 25.9% YTD for 2025. Notably, BTC Yield is a metric that a Strategy uses to measure the growth in the value of its Bitcoin holdings relative to its investment.

The metric reflects the appreciation in BTC price and possibly additional metrics like operational efficiency in acquiring the coin. The 25.9% YTD yield indicates growth in the value of the firm’s Bitcoin holdings in 2025, likely due to rising prices.

Zack Rank Outlook on MSTR Stock

Meanwhile, MicroStrategy currently holds a Zacks Rank of #4 (Sell), based on a proprietary model that considers analyst estimate revisions and other factors.

This rank suggests that MicroStrategy stock could underperform the market in the near term. The Zack Rank ranges from #1, which indicates Strong Buy, to #5, signaling Strong Sell.

Historically, #1-ranked stocks have averaged +25% annual returns since 1988. Notably, the #4 Zack Rank for MSTR indicates analyst caution, likely due to stagnant estimate revisions and projected losses.

Analysts expect an earnings per share (EPS) of -$0.11, a 92.95% improvement from the same quarter last year. Also, revenue is projected to hit $118.2 million, up 1.84% year-over-year.

The Zacks Rank Sell rating may deter new investors and prompt current shareholders to reconsider their positions. Thus, it can reduce demand for MicroStrategy stock. This could limit upward price momentum for MSTR.

However, MicroStrategy operates in the Financial – Miscellaneous Services industry, within the Finance sector. This industry has a Zacks Industry Rank of 54, placing it in the top 22% of over 250 industries.

Additionally, MSTR could defy the Sell rating, leveraging on the BTC Yield boost. Analysts are optimistic that MSTR stock could rally towards $400 this year. Wall Street analysts earlier predicted that the MSTR price may jump to $564.
