Ethereum price is in the spotlight as onchain data analytics platform Santiment has revealed that the protocol has led total development activity events in the industry over the past 30 days.
The high development activity often indicates a vibrant, actively maintained, and evolving ecosystem.
This could boost the digital asset’s value and be a positive signal for Ethereum innovation and long-term sustainability.
The Ethereum GitHub Dev Activities
According to Santiment, Ethereum shows 2,903 ecosystem development activity events in the past month. This shows a massive developer community, extensive infrastructure, and ongoing upgrades.
The high Ethereum development activity reflects continuous work on scaling solutions and ecosystem growth.
BNB Chain (BNB) also shows a respectable amount of development activity, following behind with 1,471 GitHub commits. Traditionally, both ETH and BNB are considered among the most actively developed cryptocurrencies in the industry.

The high developer activity can make more institutional investors trust the Ethereum network, especially where transparency and consistent development are required.
Over the past 24 hours, Ethereum experienced a mild price rebound with a 0.9% gain. However, the trading volume decreased by 24.25% to $35.69 billion.
Typically, trading volumes tend to increase whenever large-cap cryptocurrencies experience a sharp price recovery.
Thus, the higher the activity, the better the price movement and short-term profit. The fact that such rebounds are associated with high developer activity gives traders additional confidence.
Polygon came third in the development activity ranking, followed by Optimism and Arbitrum. These blockchains are all Ethereum Layer-2 solutions, offering cheaper and faster transactions.
Vitalik Buterin Highlights Security Standards for ETH
In a recent X post, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin shed light on the security council and its role in network governance.
According to Buterin, Stage 1 of Ethereum rollup security allows the security council to override the blockchain’s onchain code. However, at least 75% of the council must agree.

This mechanism addresses critical issues, such as bugs, security vulnerabilities, or network attacks. It allows rapid response without relying solely on slower onchain governance processes.
However, Stage 1 requires that at least 26% of the council consist of members outside the organization managing L1. This ensures the organization cannot unilaterally control decisions, such as censoring transactions or misappropriating funds.
Buterin added that the security council’s ability to override onchain code is removed entirely in Stage 2. Accordingly, the Security Council can only act in case of provable bugs.
With this explanation, Buterin aimed to address misconceptions and analyze how L2s like Base ensure user security and non-custodial properties.
The Ethereum co-founder argued that Base strikes a balance by improving usability while anchoring security.
Fundstrat Goes Bullish on Ethereum Price
Aligning with the increased development activity and improved security, Fundstrat, an independent equity research firm, is bullish on the Ethereum price.
In a recent interview, Mark Newton, Global Head of Technical Strategy at Fundstrat, said the ETH price has a strong support level around $4,000.
Newton expects ETH to continue holding above this level as it prepares for higher prices. He, therefore, highlighted $5,500 as the next target for predicted ETH. This represents a potential increase of approximately 31% from its current price of $4,194.

Surprisingly, the $5,500 Ethereum price target aligns with earlier forecasts. Crypto analyst Titan of Crypto claimed ETH could hit $10,000 this year, citing bullish technical patterns.
In a bolder projection, Tom Lee, the brain behind ETH Treasury firm BitMine Technologies, is optimistic that the ETH price could rally to $15,000 by year-end.
Other analysts also believe the recent surge in ETH accumulation by corporate treasuries could help spark a price breakout.
