Bitcoin (BTC) Price Reclaims $116,000, Is ATH Next?

The Bitcoin price has reclaimed the $ 116,000 resistance level, following a consolidation phase.

Aligning with the bullish structure, Bitcoin hit a major milestone in history, possibly marking the much-anticipated Uptober rally.

Institutional interest has also surged, with Metaplanet continuing on its BTC accumulation move.

Bitcoin Price Retests the $116,000 Support

According to CoinMarketCap data, the price of BTC reached a high of $116,566. As of this writing, BTC is priced at $116,413, up 3.05% over the previous day.

On the weekly and monthly charts, the leading coin surged 2.9% and 7.13%, respectively. However, the daily trading is down 3.6%, while the market cap surged to $2.32 trillion.

Bitcoin investors are now keeping their eye on $117,000 as the next major target. Market analyst Cas Abbé recently pointed out a hidden bullish divergence forming on the Bitcoin chart.

He also highlighted $115,000 as a key resistance that, once overcome, may set Bitcoin price on a bullish ride.

Traders and analysts believe BTC will hit a new all-time high (ATH) in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2025. This would likely happen if the U.S Federal Reserve announces another interest rate cut.

In September, the Fed slashed the rate by 25 basis points, citing the recent performance in the labor market.

Another key factor to spark a potential BTC rally in Q4 is a renewed boost in the spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) market. Already, the spot ETFs have regained momentum after seeing days of outflows.

On September 29 and 30, the spot BTC ETFs registered inflows of $518 million and $429 million, respectively.

Bitcoin Makes History and Market Commentary on Uptober Start

In an X post, analyst Titan of Crypto celebrated a major BTC milestone. The analyst posted a chart that showed Bitcoin price closed above $113,993 in Q3 2025.

This is the highest-ever quarterly close in the history of BTC, signaling sustained upward momentum. It also confirmed the structural breakout strength of the coin.

The positive momentum and sentiment have placed Bitcoin in a strong position as Q4 begins. The market is in high spirits, awaiting what October, often called “Uptober” by crypto enthusiasts, has to offer.

Historically, Bitcoin and the crypto market in general have seen positive results in October after a bearish September. With this in mind, the market is expecting a bold BTC rally this month.

Commenting on the Uptober trend, crypto analyst Steph is Crypto, predicted that the XRP coin will hit a new ATH, benefitting from the coming Bitcoin hype.

Metaplanet Buys More BTC

As it stands, institutional commitment remains, particularly from Japan-based Metaplanet. The firm, which is one of the largest Bitcoin treasury firms globally, announced today that it has acquired an additional BTC.

Metaplanet announced that it purchased 5,268 BTC for approximately $615.67 million. The firm bought the new stash at an average price of about $116,870 per BTC.

Currently, Metaplanet holds a total of 30,823 BTC on its balance sheet. In fiat terms, these coins are worth about $3.33 billion.

Metaplanet is now the 4th-largest public corporate BTC holder globally, following behind XXI, according to BitcoinTreasuries.

The Japanese-based firm is modeling the BTC acquisition after Strategy Inc. (formerly MicroStrategy). Metaplanet has achieved a BTC Yield of 497.1% year-to-date (YTD).

Furthermore, Metaplanet has experienced exponential growth in revenue over the past few quarters.

In Q4 2024, the Bitcoin Income Generation revenue stood at JPY 691.58 million. By Q1 2025, the revenue increased to JPY 770.31 million, marking an 11.4% increase.

Overall, the continuous accumulation of BTC by Metaplanet demonstrates confidence in the leading cryptocurrency. It increases appeal for BTC and could fuel a rally towards a new ATH.
