Binance News: Coinbase, Robinhood Announce BNB Token Listing

Coinbase is set to list Binance’s BNB token, marking a rare move to support a competitor’s native asset. This listing is a major highlight in Binance news, expanding BNB’s reach to a broader U.S. audience.

Coinbase plans to support the BNB token on the BNB Smart Chain (BSC) network. This will happen once the platform confirms sufficient liquidity for safe trading.

It said:

Dual Listing Sparks Speculation in Binance News Circles

Although Coinbase did not specify the listing date, the exchange stated that the token will be available on all its platforms.

These include Coinbase.com, Coinbase App, and Coinbase Advanced. It added that institutions can also trade the token. Meanwhile, a subsequent update confirmed that trading has already started in an auction mode.

BNB was recently listed on Coinbase, marking a significant milestone for the token. Interestingly, this move coincides with its simultaneous listing on Robinhood, making waves in the latest Binance news. The online brokerage firm also confirmed that BNB is listed for trading.

The coincidence did not slip past Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, who noted that both platforms now list BNB tokens. Although. Robinhood already lists several major cryptocurrencies; the timing of the BNB listing is interesting.

Coinbase’s move to list might have informed Robinhood’s decision. However, the availability of BNB on the platforms could still depend on the jurisdiction. Some users are noting that it is not available in New York City.

Binance BNB Sees No Price Movements Despite Major Listings

BNB’s dual listing on US-based platforms has shown no effect on its market value. This development adds little momentum to current Binanace news. The token continues to trade within range, above $1,070, despite many expecting it to see gains later.

It has already declined by almost 8% in the past week. However, he token remains one of the best performers year-to-date. It has gained 37% in the past three months, hitting a new peak of $1,370 less than two weeks ago.

The token’s recent performance might be one of the factors behind its eventual listing by Coinbase and Robinhood. However, another possible factor is the recent debate on X about centralized exchanges not listing competitors’ tokens.

Many users noted that Coinbase and Upbit do not list BNB. Binance itself does not list tokens such as OKB and MNT, which are all competition tokens. OKX, Binance, and Coinbase have also not listed HYPE, the native token of the leading perp decentralized exchange Hyperliquid.

With Coinbase now listing BNB, it is a sign that major exchanges might be looking past competition. Interestingly, Coinbase does not have a native token, unlike most centralized exchanges.
