Bitwise Solana Staking ETF to Go Live In Hours, Here’s What to Expect for SOL Price

Bitwise Asset Management, a leading issuer of crypto ETPs, is launching the first U.S. Solana (SOL) exchange-traded fund (ETF) today, October 28, 2025.

The spot Bitwise Solana Staking ETF will begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol BSOL.

Bitwise Launches First U.S. Solana Staking ETF

This new financial product will provide U.S. investors with easy access to Solana, eliminating the hassle of directly buying or staking it themselves.

Bitwise highlighted in its announcement that BSOL is the first U.S. ETP to have 100% direct exposure to spot SOL. BSOL, unlike futures-based products, holds real SOL coins securely in cold custody by Coinbase Custody.

Also, the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF maximizes the annual 7% rewards on staked SOL

This means that rewards are earned on the fund’s holdings and automatically reinvested, boosting returns for investors.

Bitwise added that it plans to stake 100% of all SOL in the fund. This maximizes yield, but note that it also introduces minor risks like temporary lock-ups during staking.

Another important thing to note is that Bitwise handles staking through its in-house platform. However, it is technically powered by Helius, a top Solana validator renowned for its speed, security, and uptime.

Helius runs a dedicated “Bitwise Onchain Solutions” validator just for BSOL, ensuring institutional-grade reliability and compliance.

Furthermore, the standard management fee is 0.20% annually, but it is waived to 0% for a limited period. After that, fees apply but are competitive for crypto ETFs.

The Race for Solana ETF Launch

Bitwise applied to the U.S. Securities Commission (SEC) for approval of its Solana ETF in November 2024. The company submitted an S-1 application for a spot Solana ETF trust with a Delaware address to the U.S. SEC.

The regulator eventually postponed its decision on Solana ETF proposals from Bitwise, moving the final deadline to October 16, 2025.

On October 8, Bitwise Investment Advisers submitted its fifth amendment to the SEC. The asset manager officially renamed the product to the “Bitwise Solana Staking ETF.”

It also features a competitive annual management fee of 0.20%, positioning the product as a low-cost option in the crypto ETF market.

Notably, Bitwise joined other firms like VanEck, 21Shares, Canary Capital, and Grayscale Investments, that are also seeking a spot in a Solana ETF.

After multiple delays from the SEC, Grayscale is set to launch its spot SOL ETF on Wednesday, October 29.

Unlike Bitwise, Grayscale will convert a Solana Trust into an ETF. The Grayscale ETF also includes staking, with 0.35% fees.

What to Expect for SOL Price

The launch of BSOL is a bullish outlook on the Solana coin. Crucially, the Solana tech is ideal for bringing traditional finance onto blockchains.

With over 2,000 developers and millions of users, SOL price is poised for mass adoption, which could translate to higher prices.

SOL has already shown sensitivity to ETF news. The SOL price surged above $203 earlier today before dropping to current levels.

As of this writing, Solana price was trading at around $200.14, down 0.22% over the previous day. However, SOL is still up on the weekly charts, increasing by 7.9%

Analysts noted that SOL could climb above key resistance at $215, targeting $253 short-term once momentum resumes.

A decisive break above $205 would target the next resistance trend line at $215. On the other hand, failing to hold $197 risks a drop to $182, followed by additional lower targets.

For now, the SOL price shows an optimistic outlook, and investors are watching to see the next big move for the coin.
