The Grayscale Solana ETF began trading today on the NYSE Arca after approval for listing under the ticker symbol GSOL.
Notably, the fund gives investors access to Solana through regular brokerage accounts.
Trading starts as the SEC accepts the registration and the conversion of the trust into an exchange-traded fund.
Listing Opens New Access To Solana Through GSOL
The Grayscale Solana ETF appears on the exchange under the ticker symbol GSOL. It registers securities under file number 333-286374.
The filing uses Form 8-A under Section 12(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
A marked box in the SEC filing confirms that the class of securities is now effective for listing.
It is worth noting that the trust changed its legal name on October 28, 2025. It moved from Grayscale Solana Trust (SOL) to Grayscale Solana Trust ETF.
Additionally, the sponsor of the trust is Grayscale Investments Sponsors, LLC, with its principal office located in Stamford, Connecticut. The signature on the filing comes from the chief financial officer of the sponsor.
Furthermore, this product began in 2021 as a closed-end investment vehicle. As noted, it provided Solana exposure through traditional accounts.
The structure did not allow creations and redemptions. However, the conversion into an ETF could improve trading flexibility.
It may also reduce premiums or discounts to the price of Solana. The new format places the product on a widely used national exchange. Millions of investors can trade shares during standard market hours.
Solana is the sixth-largest digital asset by market capitalization. As of this update, it was trading at $198.71. The Grayscale Solana ETF holds Solana and tracks its price.

Shares represent a fractional beneficial interest in the trust. These shares give access without the need to hold or store the asset directly.
The change to an ETF may help expand use among retail and institutional investors.
The company says it is among the largest managers of Solana exchange-traded products in the United States.
The launch highlights continued growth in crypto investment offerings on public exchanges. It also reveals broader use of blockchain-based assets inside regular portfolios.
New SEC Guidance Supports Launch During Shutdown
It is worth noting that trading begins while the United States government remains in its second month of a shutdown.
The SEC has limited staff because many workers are on furlough. As a result, work on registration reviews is restricted.
Updated guidance clarifies the steps for firms that want to bring products to market. However, companies can file a registration statement without a delaying amendment.
When a delaying amendment is not included, the filing becomes effective 20 days after the date of filing. This timing allows launches to proceed even with reduced staff.
In addition, before the shutdown, the SEC approved updated listing standards for commodity-based trust shares.
Three exchanges sought changes to these rules. The changes pave the way for more crypto exchange-traded products to reach the market more quickly.
The Grayscale Solana ETF follows these listing requirements. Approval supports trading under normal procedures on NYSE Arca.
Meanwhile, other crypto funds have also begun trading this week. Bitwise made history as it listed a Solana ETF on the New York Stock Exchange.
Canary Capital listed a Litecoin ETF and an HBAR ETF on Nasdaq. These launches show that companies are moving ahead with plans to expand choices for investors.
Staking Feature Links Trading To Network Support
The trust includes staking for Solana. Staking supports network operations and validation.
It may produce rewards for participants. Investors in the fund can take part in the staking activity through regulated market access.
This feature bridges traditional finance with blockchain networks, helping to boost participation in the ecosystem.
The arrival of the Grayscale Solana ETF on a major exchange marks a step forward in access to digital asset products. It brings Solana exposure into a familiar trading environment.
The listing may contribute to increased interest in regulated crypto investments across the United States.
