Solana is actively challenging its Layer 1 competitor, Ethereum, as one of the most widely used blockchain networks of 2025. Jon Ma, co-founder and CEO of Artemis, confirmed that based on pure usage metrics, Solana leads all major blockchain networks this year. This marks a significant milestone for the blockchain, alongside other ecosystem developments.
Solana Crypto Beats Ethereum, Other Blockchains In Network Activity
Crypto analytics platform Artemis pointed out to Solana’s outperformance so far in 2025. Data from Artemis shows Solana recorded approximately 98 million monthly active users, nearly five times more than Base. The network also processed approximately 34 billion transactions, ranking first and significantly outperforming other chains, including BNB.
In terms of economic activity, Solana registered a trading volume of $1.6 trillion and generated $5 billion in application fees, both of which are the highest among major blockchains. Network revenue reached roughly $1.5 billion, also leading the sector.

However, noted that Ethereum still continues to dominate in total value locked (TVL), developer activity, and transfer volume. But analysts added that Solana’s strength lies in user adoption and transaction-driven revenue.
Market observers argue that sustained user activity translates into higher fees and revenue over time. This puts the Solana blockchain on a higher pedestal for long-term competitiveness.
Solana Crypto Leads By A Wide Margin
Lily Liu, the President of the Solana Foundation stated that the blockchain is already the most widely used blockchain platform. She argued that its usage exceeds that of the rest of the crypto ecosystem combined by nearly 2 to 3 times.
Solana is already the most used chain. Solana, throughout 2025, is more used than the rest of crypto combined, times two to three,” said Liu during a CNBC interview last week.
Liu emphasized that Solana’s scale of adoption sets it apart from other networks. She said that the network’s growth follows a traditional technology platform model in which increased usage drives higher fees and revenue. This ultimately creates a great value for SOL over the long term.
Liu added that added that adoption tends to precede valuation, suggesting that Solana’s current usage metrics could underpin its long-term market position.

SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci also shared a similar opinion. He expects Solana to emerge as one of the industry’s leading platform blockchains over the next five years, alongside Bitcoin.
He cited Solana’s technology as being well-suited for real-world adoption, pointing to its high throughput, low costs, and developer-friendly design built. Scaramucci noted that SkyBridge Capital holds a significant position in SOL. He added that he is very confident in the network’s long-term prospects to publish a book outlining his investment thesis.
Solana ETFs Hit Records, SOL Price Tests Crucial Resistance
The spot Solana ETFs from Bitwise Investments recorded 33 consecutive days of net inflows since its debut. As per the data from Farside Investors, the total capital flows have reached $608.9 million.
On-chain data also shows that spot Solana ETFs have posted weekly net inflows since inception, with assets under management nearing $928 million. During the same period, Bitcoin spot ETFs attracted $287 million in net inflows, while Ethereum spot ETFs recorded $209 million. This clearly indicates that Solana is currently dominating its peers.
Solana-focused ETFs added $33.6 million over the last week. None of the seven listed Solana funds reported net outflows. This sows rising investor interest for SOL.

As of now, the SOL price is consolidating at $132, with its daily trading volume jump 32% to $2.9 billion. This hints at strong bullish sentiment among traders and investors. Solana has remained within the $130–$140 range for more than two weeks. Analysts note that a sustained break above the $140 resistance level could pave the way for the $150 level.
