Paxos Introduces USDL Stablecoin On Arbitrum: Essential Insights
  • Paxos has deployed the Lift Dollar (USDL) on the Arbitrum network.
  • USDL’s list on Arbitrum expands choices of stablecoins that gain benefits both for users and developers.
  • The integration of USDL will enhance fast transactions and reduce gaming, social applications, and DeFi costs.

Paxos International is a UAE-based subsidiary of Paxos. Yesterday, it stated that Lift Dollar (USDL) is now live on the Layer 2 scaling solution Arbitrum. It is a yield-bearing stablecoin by a regulated entity.

It has been a few weeks since Paxos publicly stated its desire to align its products with Ethereum‘s Layer 2 solution. This new expansion of the USDL stablecoin will launch the Arbitrum ecosystem for users and developers.’

The reason is to provide instantaneous and cheap payments that can be used for gaming, social purposes, and DeFi applications.

Integration of USDL would strengthen the DeFi ecosystem available on the Arbitrum network. Beneficiaries will be the end-users who can enjoy using a regulated stablecoin.

With this launch, participants can get safe yields and instant transactions. Lift Dollar pays out its dividends to eligible wallets directly every day. The stablecoin does it without any additional action from the holders through the Ethereum smart contracts.

USDL stablecoin has now become an SEC-compliant yield-generating token. As a result, the developers of the Arbitrum network have additional tools at their disposal. These tools could be used to design and deploy new applications that help advance the DeFi growth.

Arbitrum Network Fortified by USDL Launch: Key Benefits

A.J. Warner, the chief strategy officer at Offchain Labs, said that USDL stablecoin’s incorporation makes Arbitrum more effective.

As Warner pointed out, the stablecoin allows fast and cheap transactions across the Layer 2 network. This bodes well for executing use cases and applications in social, DeFi, and gaming domains.

USDL Backing: How Paxos Continues To Build Trust

Paxos International operates under the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). Under this license, Paxos International must maintain a 1:1 parity between USDL and USD.

It must have high-quality liquid assets that support its domestic currency deposit, USDL-USD, short-term US bonds, and other cash-like instruments. It added that customers can swap their USDL for fiat at any time.

Several large regional populations, including those in Europe, the United States, and the United Kingdom, require assistance in accessing USDL. However, the asset is still accessible by users in the Abu Dhabi Global Market, which denotes the company’s regulated realm.

Paxos to Expand USDL Globally: A Step Toward Wider Adoption

The Paxos affiliate company launched the USDL stablecoin in June 2024. It stated that it would work with global exchanges, wallets, and platforms. The aim of this project is to make the coin available to users and institutions.

The company has also officially partnered with big companies in tokenizing and settling assets, including PayPal, Mastercard, and Nubank. This kind of partnership underlines how Paxos assists blockchain solutions in making a difference and building up the digital economy.
