Plomin Hardfork Giant Upgrade Failed To Catapult Cardano Price
  • Cardano Plomin hard fork upgrade was the biggest yet, as it marks a step toward full decentralization, receiving 66.67% approval to its proposal too.
  • Analysts like Dan Gambardello predict that it has potential to pull off a market cap of $500 billion for Cardano in the future.
  • The upgrade empowers ADA holders with governance rights, enhancing community-driven decision-making.

Cardano (ADA), the ninth-largest blockchain network, recently rolled out its Plomin hard fork upgrade.

This upgrade marked a significant step toward its long-term goal of achieving full decentralized governance.

While this development was a major milestone for the network, the immediate market reaction was underwhelming, with Cardano price only gaining a modest 2% intraday.

Despite the lack of a substantial price movement, the upgrade is still crucial for Cardano, as it empowers ADA holders to participate directly in governance decisions.

This shift positions Cardano as a “community-driven blockchain,” allowing users to shape its future.

However, the excitement surrounding the upgrade does not overshadow the fact that Cardano price performance has been lackluster.

The crypto continues to adhere to a downward trend, trading below the short-term EMA bands of 20-day and 50-day for the past ten days.

Now, experts are left wondering whether this new biggest upgrade will be enough to halt Cardano price decline or if it will continue to slide further.

Foundation Says, Cardano Is Now A Self-Sustaining Network

In the decentralized landscape, it is the fact that the voting system is crucial for driving innovations and implementing upgrades on blockchain networks. This principle of purity and impartiality is what that keeps decentralized tech differ from centralized one’s.

Cardano, via an X post, announced that its upgrade proposal received a resounding 66.67% approval.

The proposal, part of the Plomin hard fork governance action, initially announced its result on January 23rd and quickly rolled out on the blockchain.

The Plomin hard fork garnered significant support after a voting exercise involving various Cardano councils and stakeholders, was done.

The key organizations such as the Cardano Foundation, EMURGO, and IOG also backed the proposal.

Now, with the implementation of Plomin, Cardano is intriguingly set to introduce features that will enhance the network’s decentralization.

Its new features, could potentially increase its robustness and attractiveness to both developers and investors, alike.

Following the update, the Cardano Foundation in past 24-hours only, shared on X that the Plomin hard fork marks a pivotal transition successfully to full decentralized governance.

WIth this upgrade, now the ADA holders will now have real voting power on critical matters. The matters including parameter changes, treasury withdrawals, future hard forks, and the overall direction of the blockchain.

These enhancements align with Cardano’s priorities for scalability, security, and governance development.

The upgrade could position Cardano as a leading pioneer in decentralization within blockchain technology.

According to the Cardano Foundation, this upgrade represents a significant milestone in blockchain governance, placing control firmly in the hands of the community, with on-chain voting as its foundation. As a result, Cardano is evolving into a self-sustaining network.

Additionally, in the long run, it could drive increased adoption and positively influence Cardano price, too.

Analyst’s Take on Cardano

Moreover, the Charles Hoskinson has recently emphasized that the framework for Cardano has always prioritized maintaining active goal towards closer to decentralization. With the recent upgrade, he further says that the network is now fully decentralized.

He also said that now, the network truly belongs to the community, claiming it is even more decentralized than Bitcoin at this point in time.

Analyst Dan Gambardello shares Charles Hoskinson’s enthusiasm, calling this the most significant upgrade in Cardano’s history.

However, he notes that the daily chart currently shows little movement in the price. Despite this, Gambardello is optimistic about the future, believing that Cardano price has the potential to reach a market cap of $500 Billion, a substantial increase from its current valuation of around $34 Billion.

From an analytical perspective, Gambardello sees Cardano price as well-positioned for growth. He points to the formation of an inverted head and shoulders pattern, which could signal a breakout and drive prices higher in the long term.

However, he cautions that there is little immediate potential for price movement, despite the significance of the recent upgrade.

For Cardano price to gain traction in the short term, it must break above the short-term moving averages of the 20-day and 50-day EMA bands.
