Binance’s $20 Million Transfers Raise Eyebrows
Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, faced scrutiny after transferring approximately $20M in Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL) to Wintermute, a prominent market maker. The transactions raised concerns about potential market manipulation.
On Monday, Binance transferred 70.9 BTC (worth $7.2M) and 1,701 ETH ($5.38M) to Wintermute. The next day, the exchange moved 20,973 SOL ($4.9M) and an additional 1,000 ETH ($3.17M). Observers flagged these movements as attempts to create artificial liquidity and influence market prices.

Shortly after, Whale Alert flagged another massive transaction—18,107 ETH ($57.8M) moved from an unknown wallet to Binance.
Accusations Against Binance and Wintermute
Crypto commentator Marty Party accused Binance of orchestrating transactions to create misleading trading patterns.
He claimed these patterns often lead to liquidations of leveraged positions, harming retail investors. Marty urged the community to avoid panic selling and prioritize self-custody of their assets.

Adding to the controversy, analyst Cryptoblock192.eth criticized Wintermute for exploiting order books and engaging in centralized practices.
The analyst drew parallels between Wintermute’s actions and the controversies surrounding FTX and Alameda Research, noting that such strategies contradict the principles of decentralization.
“These practices harm retail traders by manipulating prices and exploiting liquidity gaps,” the analyst said, calling for increased transparency.
Adding to the chorus, Gravez, an outspoken user on X, stressed that these issues require more attention. “This needs to be bigger news so that these exchanges get held accountable for market manipulation,” Gravez wrote.
Despite the rising criticism, Binance and Wintermute have yet to issue any statements, leaving the community frustrated by the lack of accountability.
Can BNB Hold the Line? $661 Support Under Siege
Amid these controversies, Binance Coin (BNB) tested a crucial support level of $661 as bearish sentiment gripped the broader crypto market.
At the time of writing, BNB was trading at $675.08, up 1.84% in the last 24 hours. The price action suggests increasing volatility, with traders closely watching for a decisive move.

Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) reiterated his long-term confidence in BNB, likening its holding strategy to Bitcoin (BTC). He tweeted that no investor had lost money holding BNB or BTC for over four years, reinforcing his belief in its value. However, he also cautioned that past performance does not guarantee future results.

The 1-day price indicates that BNB is forming a descending triangle pattern, typically a bearish signal. However, if the price holds above $661 and breaks the resistance around $724-$739, a potential breakout toward $866 (+30.5%) could be in play.
Fibonacci retracement levels suggest that BNB needs to reclaim $739.64 (0.618 Fib) to confirm a bullish continuation.
On the downside, a failure to hold $661 could push prices toward the next support level around $600-$620, erasing recent gains.
The recent $20 Million transfers and accusations of market manipulation have placed Binance under the spotlight. Meanwhile, BNB’s price action remains critical, with investors closely watching whether it can maintain support at $661.
