MicroStrategy has officially rebranded to Strategy, reinforcing its focus on Bitcoin as its primary asset. The move follows an aggressive accumulation spree, with the firm nearly doubling its BTC holdings in just three months.
MicroStrategy is Now ‘Strategy’—But Its Bitcoin Obsession Remains
MicroStrategy, the largest corporate Bitcoin holder, has rebranded to Strategy, marking a new phase in its aggressive digital asset push. The company announced the change on Feb. 5, unveiling a fresh logo featuring a stylized “B” in Bitcoin’s signature orange.

Co-founder Michael Saylor, a vocal Bitcoin advocate, emphasized that the shift aligns with the firm’s core mission. “New brand, same strategy,” Saylor posted on X, signaling that Bitcoin accumulation remains the company’s priority.
The decision reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to Bitcoin. Over the past year, Strategy has intensified its Bitcoin acquisition efforts, doubling its holdings in just three months. The rebrand reinforces its positioning as a Bitcoin-first institution, setting a precedent for corporate treasury strategies.
Bitcoin Hoard Skyrockets Amid $20B Spree
Strategy’s fourth-quarter earnings report revealed record-breaking Bitcoin purchases, adding 218,887 BTC for $20.5 Billion. The firm now holds 471,107 BTC, valued at approximately $44 Billion. This marks the largest quarterly increase in Bitcoin holdings in the company’s history.

Despite its aggressive acquisition strategy, the company reported a net loss of $670.8 Million, translating to $3.03 per diluted share. Operating expenses surged 693% year-over-year, hitting $1.1 Billion for the quarter. Revenue, however, stood at $120.7 Million, falling short of analyst expectations by $3 Million.
CEO Phong Le described the performance as a step forward, noting that Strategy has already completed $20 Billion of its ambitious $42 Billion capital plan under its “21/21 Plan.” The company aims to raise $21 Billion in equity and $21 Billion in fixed-income securities to support further Bitcoin acquisitions.
Strategy Eyes a $10B Bitcoin Profit Target for 2025
Strategy introduced new performance metrics to track its Bitcoin investment. The firm announced an annual “BTC Gain” and “BTC $ Gain”, setting a bold $10 Billion BTC $ Gain target for 2025.
BTC Gain measures the company’s Bitcoin holdings multiplied by BTC Yield, a proprietary indicator tracking the growth of Bitcoin relative to shares outstanding. Strategy reported a BTC Yield of 74.3% for 2024, underlining the performance of its Bitcoin-centric treasury model.
Wall Street remains divided on Strategy’s approach. Mizuho Securities predicts Bitcoin could surge another 30% in three years, potentially boosting the company’s stock. However, with a market cap of $85 Billion, Strategy is highly leveraged to Bitcoin’s volatility.

Saylor has repeatedly called Bitcoin the “greatest digital transformation of the 21st century”, urging companies like Microsoft to adopt BTC as digital capital. His bullish stance is inspiring others—Japan-based Metaplanet aims to accumulate 10,000 BTC by 2025, following Strategy’s lead.
But the big question remains—will more companies follow Strategy’s lead, or is this a high-risk gamble that only Saylor can pull off?
