Crypto Market Faces Extreme FUD: A Potential Bottom In Sight?

Key Insights:

  • 79.3K BTC sold at a loss in 24H, marking 2025’s largest sell-off, pushing Bitcoin toward key support at $85K-$90K.
  • ETH dropped 27.48%, its worst February on record, breaking key support levels with potential liquidity at $2,131.
  • Extreme bearishness across BTC, ETH, XRP, and SOL, with FUD at historic highs, potentially signaling a market bottom.

Extreme FUD has spread throughout the crypto market. This accelerated panic selling and pushed prices closer to critical support levels.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, and significant altcoins demonstrate bearish conditions, which indicate rising market doubt. Market participants monitor essential support regions to identify potential rebounds or extended downward movements.

Crypto Market Faces Extreme FUD: A Bottom in Sight?

The current sentiment in the crypto market indicated intense pessimistic behavior. This happened when Bitcoin reached $86,000 due to widespread FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt) in this industry.

The recent Santiment statistics showed that Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Solana traders maintain a bearish outlook toward these cryptocurrencies. At the same time, their expectations fell to all-time lows.

The market showed intense bearish expectations. Even if Bitcoin and other top assets have significantly recovered from their lows, traders still expect further price declines after this.

Historically, negative market sentiment leads to bottoms through panic selling by investors. The history of FUD and capitulation waves suggests that the crypto market may be preparing for a rebound.

Bitcoin Tests Key Support as Panic Selling Surges

Crypto analyst Michael van de Poppe provided some insights about Bitcoin price movement. He claims a critical support level of $88,000 serves as the “sweet spot for entries” in the crypto market.

The bullish cycle in Bitcoin is expected to continue if present price levels are successfully defended. For the current market cycle to enter its complete correction phase, at least a 30% correction is required.

However, Micheal noted that a failure to hold up this level of support would lead to a more extensive price reduction. That could lead toward $70,000 as traders extract liquidity from lower price ranges.

Market participants follow this essential support level intensely. That’s because it represents an entry confirmation point and possible evidence for price reversal.

Additionally, recent CryptoQuant data showed that Bitcoin price experienced its biggest sell-off this year. This happened after short-term holders sold 79.3K BTC at a loss within the last 24 hours.

Short-term holder capitulation triggered a panic dump of Bitcoin, which resulted in prices falling toward the $85K-$90K region. Historically, large-scale exchange losses tend to trigger market bottoms because they drive investors to sell their positions during bearish cycles.

Bitcoin was at a critical support level, which may entice long-term investors to absorb the sold supply. This creates conditions for market recovery. Additional selling pressure may push the price value toward lower liquidity zones.

Ethereum Price Faces Record February Losses, Key Support Tested

Amid this crypto market chaos, Coinglass data showed that ETH experienced its steepest February decrease ever. The prices fell by -27.48%. This contrasts previous February trends when the Ethereum price increased by 46.28% in 2024 and 8.78% in 2022.

This severe market decline rejects previous patterns, so market participants are concerned about a potential market-wide decline.

Ethereum price indicates upcoming challenges to support zones as both previous trendlines have already failed to hold. This significant $2,131 resistance contains high network liquidity, an ideal entry point for bullish trades.

A significant demand zone spanning $1,853 to $2,025 adds to the evidence for a substantial price recovery. An order block at $3,227-$3,457 presents a crucial resistance level on lower timeframes. There, a correction may occur before Ethereum resumes its bullish trajectory.
