Key Insights:
- Bitcoin stabilizes above $83K as traders anticipate an April breakout.
- Federal Reserve decision looms, with Powell’s tone crucial for risk assets.
- Bitcoin holders accumulate, resisting sell pressure despite recent market corrections.
Bitcoin (BTC) held steady above $83,000 as the weekend ended. It managed to avoid deeper sell-offs despite experiencing recent volatility.
Market observers suggest an impending breakout, citing liquidity trends and historical price behavior.
Bitcoin Eyes Liquidity Grab Before Next Move
BTC/USD briefly dipped to $82,000 before rebounding. Data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView showed that BTC secured the $80,000 level as a critical support zone.
Crypto trader Michaël van de Poppe described the price action as stable. He suggested that Bitcoin could be setting up for a move higher.

Other traders see a potential liquidity grab before BTC makes its next move. Crypto analyst Captain Faibik argued that Bitcoin could revisit $78,000 before an upside breakout. The analyst predicted a climb toward $109,000 in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, CrypNuevo highlighted an accumulation zone between $85,400 and $87,100. He pointed to it as the next likely target for bulls.

Federal Reserve Meeting Looms Over Market Sentiment
With the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting set for March 19, macroeconomic uncertainty looms. This remains a critical factor influencing the next price movement of BTC.
The U.S. Federal Reserve is widely expected to keep interest rates unchanged. However, investors will closely watch Chair Jerome Powell’s tone for hints about future policy shifts.

Crypto analyst Kyle Doops warned that even a slight shift in Powell’s rhetoric could impact risk assets.
While inflation appears to be cooling, Powell has repeatedly emphasized patience in adjusting monetary policy. CME Group’s FedWatch Tool suggested rate cuts may only arrive in June, reinforcing a cautious stance among traders.

Meanwhile, global liquidity trends remain supportive of Bitcoin’s long-term growth. The Kobeissi Letter reported that the M2 money supply in the US rose by 3.9% year-over-year in January.
This marked its fastest expansion in 30 months. Global liquidity has grown by about $2 Trillion in the past two months. This reflected a steady expansion of available capital in the market.
Bitcoin Holders Show Resilience Despite Market Corrections
On-chain data suggested that newer Bitcoin holders exhibit stronger accumulation behavior, even as the market undergoes corrections.
CryptoQuant’s latest analysis reveals that BTC investors with holdings of three to six months are refraining from selling. This comes despite the recent fluctuations in Bitcoin’s price.

Historically, such accumulation phases have preceded major price rallies, as reduced selling pressure creates supply constraints.
Short-term Bitcoin holders who entered the market in 2025 have exhibited contrasting behavior. Since February, they have realized losses amounting to approximately $100 Million.
Bitcoin’s Open Interest Rebounds After Shakeout
Bitcoin’s derivatives market also experienced turbulence earlier this month, with a nearly $12 Billion drop in open interest (OI). CryptoQuant analyst DarkFost described this as a “natural market reset,” potentially setting the stage for further upside.

CoinGlass data reveals that Bitcoin’s open interest was $61.42 billion on February 20. By March 4, it had declined by 19%, falling to $49.71 Billion. As of March 17, OI has stabilized at $49.02 Billion, representing a modest recovery.
The shakeout coincided with market uncertainty surrounding former U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs and Federal Reserve rate policy. This leads to the liquidation of leveraged positions.
Bitcoin Faces Key Psychological Levels
According to Santiment, market players see $70,000 as psychological support, with many dreading a drop below this level.

“That means looking at the crowd’s social predictions of $100K is a great gauge for FOMO,” Santiment wrote on X. “Historically, markets move the opposite direction of the crowd’s expectations.”
Fear & Greed Index of BTC has climbed to 32/100, indicating a shift out of extreme fear. However, market watchers remain cautious, as Bitcoin has decisively yet to reclaim the $85,000 level.
April has historically been one of Bitcoin’s strongest months in terms of performance. Traders are closely observing liquidity trends, macroeconomic factors, and on-chain signals. They aim to determine whether these conditions align for the rally’s next phase.
