Key Insights
- BlackRock Bitcoin ETFs absorbed all $143.9M in June 4 crypto fund inflows.
- IBIT recorded $86.92M net inflow, the only Bitcoin ETF in green.
- Ethereum ETFs saw 13 straight days of inflows, led by ETHA.
Spot crypto exchange-traded funds in the United States recorded $143.9 million in total net inflows on June 4, with BlackRock once again dominating institutional demand for both Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
Data from SoSoValue confirmed the activity, marking a continued return of appetite after a muted May. The inflows came entirely from BlackRock’s IBIT and new Ethereum ETFs, reinforcing the asset manager’s growing role in the market’s liquidity cycle.
BlackRock Absorbs $86.9M in Bitcoin Flows Alone
The iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) stood as the sole BTC spot ETF to post inflows on June 4, netting $86.92 million. This came as other ETFs either recorded zero or negative flow, showing a tightening focus among large investors.

According to Cointelegraph, BlackRock bought 2,700 BTC on that day alone. At current market prices, the purchase is worth over $185 million, though the ETF net figure adjusts for outflows and asset price shifts.
The acquisition continues a longer trend. Over the past weeks, BlackRock has been actively acquiring both Bitcoin and Ethereum, with June’s activity reversing the outflows that characterized most of May.
In response to the activity, DeFiTracer commented, “Strategy is buying $BTC. BlackRock is buying $BTC. White House is buying $BTC,” emphasizing a broad narrative of institutional accumulation.
Ethereum ETFs Log 13th Straight Inflow Day
Spot Ethereum ETFs, which launched only recently in the U.S., attracted $56.98 million in net inflows on June 4, marking 13 consecutive days of positive flow. This makes Ethereum ETFs one of the few consistent net gainers in the crypto fund space since launch.
BlackRock’s role again stood out. The firm’s iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) reportedly acquired 28,240 ETH, according to Cointelegraph data. That volume, worth over $105 million at current prices, continues the strong early demand for Ethereum exposure through regulated U.S. products.
While Ethereum’s ETF momentum remains early-stage, the sustained daily inflows underscore investor interest in altcoin-based funds beyond Bitcoin.
Liquidity and Cycle Narrative Gains Traction
The surge in ETF activity has reignited discussion around new liquidity entering crypto markets.
Tracer, a crypto trader active on X (formerly Twitter), framed the trend in cyclical terms. “The key factor is NEW LIQUIDITY,” he wrote, arguing that each crypto cycle evolves but follows the same general structure—panic, fresh liquidity, pump, and then euphoria.

According to Tracer, “In 2021, money was just being printed. What do we have in 2025?” His thread suggests a belief that new liquidity from institutional capital may again drive asset prices higher.
He added that many influencers charge for such insights, while he shares them freely—though the thread included promotional calls for engagement and giveaways.
BlackRock Bitcoin ETF Flows Show Selective Institutional Confidence
Despite the broader crypto market still consolidating, the June 4 data shows institutions are not retreating. However, the flows remain highly concentrated—IBIT is absorbing nearly all BTC ETF demand, while other issuers struggle to post gains.
This selective interest points to a brand-trust effect. BlackRock’s reputation appears to give it an edge in attracting capital, even when market sentiment remains uncertain. Smaller ETFs continue to lag behind, both in volume and inflow consistency.
CryptoQuant and other data providers have previously highlighted how Bitcoin ETF flows often front-run or lag behind spot price changes, making them a key signal for institutional market behavior.
With IBIT and ETHA commanding the day’s entire net flow, BlackRock has moved beyond just participating in the market—it now sets the tone.
As ETF flows become a critical signal for macro crypto momentum, the firm’s decisions carry weight far beyond regulatory filings. With 13 straight days of Ethereum inflows and Bitcoin volumes trending higher, attention now turns to how long this pattern holds.
Whether or not broader markets follow, BlackRock’s inflows suggest the institutional crypto trade is far from over.
