Bybit enters the DEX arena with Byreal, launching its Solana-based testnet June 30, combining centralized liquidity with DeFi speed to challenge Uniswap and Raydium.
Bybit Joins DEX Race With Solana-Based Byreal
Bybit will release its first decentralized exchange, Byreal, on June 30 with a Solana-powered testnet, according to CEO Ben Zhou. The full mainnet launch is scheduled for the third quarter of 2025.

In a June 16 post on X, Zhou described Byreal as “not just another DEX,” but a hybrid product that merges centralized exchange (CEX) grade liquidity with the transparency and composability of decentralized finance (DeFi). “We’re building the onchain extension of a global exchange,” he said.
Bybit’s decision to anchor its DEX on Solana adds weight to the chain’s expanding role beyond memecoin trading. The firm claims the new platform will offer faster, MEV-protected swaps while competing with established giants like Uniswap, Curve, and PancakeSwap.
CEX-DEX Hybrid Targets Speed and Transparency
The Byreal testnet will go live at the end of June and features both RFQ (Request for Quote) and CLMM (Concentrated Liquidity Market Maker) routing mechanisms.
According to Zhou, this infrastructure provides “unified liquidity and speed,” helping users execute trades with low slippage while minimizing front-running. “Byreal gives users low-slippage and MEV-protected swaps at serious speed,” he added.
RFQ allows traders to request quotes from multiple sources to optimize trade execution. Meanwhile, CLMM focuses liquidity around expected price ranges, increasing efficiency and depth at those points.
Byreal’s hybrid design aims to integrate the execution efficiency of centralized trading with DeFi’s core principles, a concept Zhou framed as “real hybrid finance.”
Bybit Competing in a Shrinking Market
Byreal enters a DEX market that has stagnated in recent years. Total value locked (TVL) across all decentralized exchanges sits at $20.3 billion, down 75% from the $80 billion peak in Nov. 2021, according to DefiLlama.

Uniswap leads the field with a 24% share and $4.9 billion in TVL. Curve follows with $1.9 billion, and PancakeSwap sits at $1.7 billion.
Zhou’s move comes amid a flatlining DEX sector, with few signs of TVL growth since early 2022. Bybit’s bet on Solana and the hybrid model suggests it is attempting to capture users disillusioned by sluggish DEX performance and high Ethereum gas fees.
The timing also places it in direct competition with existing Solana-native platforms.
Solana DEX Landscape Faces Declining Volumes
Solana’s largest DEX, Raydium, controls $1.7 billion in TVL and holds a 55% share of the Solana ecosystem. It briefly surged in Jan. when memecoin trading exploded via the Pump.fun platform.
However, trading volume on Raydium has since collapsed by 88%, per DefiLlama. Despite Solana’s fast transaction speeds and low fees, DEXs on the network have struggled to maintain momentum after the memecoin frenzy cooled.
Byreal’s entry into this ecosystem suggests a new competitive front for Solana DEXs, but questions remain over whether hybrid liquidity can translate to user retention in a volatile environment.
Zhou has not disclosed whether Byreal will feature its own native token, although some community posts on X claimed a token drop could be part of the roadmap.
Community Reacts as Launch Nears
Community response on X shows curiosity and early hype. User @cryptothedoggy wrote, “Bybit CEO unveils Byreal, its first onchain DEX on Solana launching this month.” Another post by @cryptobeastreal claimed, “Early buyers will make millions,” though no details confirm a token sale.

Bybit’s leadership has not addressed these claims directly.
Zhou and the Byreal team continue to frame the launch as a leap toward hybrid market structure rather than a short-term speculative vehicle. “This is what real hybrid finance looks like,” the team said in a launch statement.
As testnet deployment approaches, industry attention will focus on whether Byreal can back its liquidity and speed claims, or whether it becomes another footnote in a crowded DEX sector.
