Key Insights:
- Nano Labs buys $50M in BNB, plans $1B treasury
- Maxwell upgrade slashes block time by 47%, boosting BNB Chain speed
- BNB up 10% from $602; bulls eye breakout above $700
BNB gained momentum after Nano Labs acquired $50 million in tokens and BNB Chain’s Maxwell upgrade went live. The dual catalysts improved sentiment and lifted BNB above $660.
The token rose 2% to $663.7 on July 4, backed by over $1 billion in trading volume. Traders responded to network enhancements and new treasury demand.
Nano Labs Sparks Treasury Trend with $50M BNB Buy
Nasdaq-listed Nano Labs has purchased 74,315 BNB worth $50 million to initiate its altcoin treasury strategy. The purchase was executed via an over-the-counter transaction at an average price of $672.45. The company’s total digital asset holdings now stand at $160 million, focused on Bitcoin and BNB.
Nano Labs, a China-based tech firm, intends to issue up to $500 million in private placements and convertible notes to back a one-billion-dollar BNB reserve. The company will own a percentage of 5 to 10 of the circulating supply of the token.
The action is an indication of increased institutional demand in BNB, similar to approaches taken in regard to Bitcoin reserves in publicly traded firms.
At the same time, other firms are forming BNB-focused treasuries. One group led by former Coral Capital executives is working on a $100 million BNB fund through a Nasdaq-listed entity to be renamed Build & Build Corporation. The shift marks a rising trend in altcoin treasuries as firms look beyond Bitcoin for long-term value.
Maxwell Upgrade Sets Stage for Network Acceleration
The Maxwell upgrade on BNB Smart Chain that was launched on June 30 is serving as a powerful catalyst to the network. The upgrade has almost doubled transaction throughput by decreasing the block intervals to about 0.8 seconds, which was previously 1.5 seconds.
The improvement also increased validator synchronization and network efficiency without compromising decentralization or security.
Consequently, BNB Chain is now in a better position to accommodate high-performance DeFi and gaming apps. The update paves the way to easier user experiences and greater scalability, which has reinforced the general mood towards BNB. This technical impetus is already beginning to show in the price action of the token.
After the upgrade, BNB has risen to $663.7, an increase of over 10% from a recent low of $602. The rebound is backed by a set of powerful bullish candles and the increase in the trading volume, which indicates the interest of the market. The daily chart indicates that bulls can now aim at the $700 level.

Moreover, Adaptive Volatility-Controlled LSMA is showing an upward trend above the level of $645.9, which encourages price growth.
Also, the MACD has registered a bullish crossover, where the signal line is above the baseline. This move is a confirmation of an increasing upward trend and an increase in the likelihood of a breakout. An upward clean break above $672 would set the stage to the next resistance at about $719.
DEX Volume Surges Strengthen BNB Chain’s Fundamentals
According to CryptoRank.io, BNB Chain recorded the largest volume of decentralized exchange (DEX) of all chains in Q2 2025. PancakeSwap dominated DEX activity on the BNB network, pushing the chain’s spot trading ratio higher relative to centralized exchanges.

This graph shows that the DEX volume of BNB skyrocketed to more than 18 billion in early June, and Solana and Ethereum are way behind. Such dominance indicates that users remain active, and there is more liquidity in BNB-based platforms.
The ecosystem benefits directly from improved user experience enabled by Maxwell’s network enhancements.
In addition, the growing DEX volume facilitates the on-chain activity and increases the utility case to possessing BNB. As more users migrate from CEXs to DEXs, BNB’s importance in transaction fees and staking will likely increase, reinforcing its value as a blockchain-native asset.
