Key Insights:
- Despite this surge in Pi Network developer activity and staking participation, Pi Coin remains down 8% weekly, hovering near $0.45.
- Whale activity on exchanges and a sharp decline in weighted sentiment to a 3-month low signal weakening investor confidence.
- While narrowing Bollinger Bands hint at a potential volatility squeeze toward $0.47–$0.52, the bearish sentiment risks dropping to $0.40.
Following the Pi2Day celebration on June 30, Pi Network’s Pi App studio is hitting new milestones with developers leveraging the platform for building new creative applications. However, despite this growth, developer participation, and broader crypto market rally, Pi coin is still trading 8% down on the weekly chart, and is flirting around $0.45. Will further development trigger an upside, or is it a lost cause for Pi token investors?
Pi Network Hits New Milestones Following Pi2Day
In a major update on Thursday, July 17, the Pi Core Team (PCT) has unveiled key milestones from the Pi2Day 2025 Ecosystem Challenge, underscoring robust community participation. According to the team, the event, held from June 28 to July 7, sparked significant activity across the Pi Network ecosystem.
However, despite this development and the broader crypto market rally, the Pi coin price has struggled to gather momentum and is still trading around $0.45.
In a recent blog post, the PCT announced that users built over 7,600 chatbot applications and launched 14,100 custom apps through the new Pi App Studio. The initiative also drew participation from 34,800 users in app development. This signals a high level of community engagement and growing interest in Pi Network’s developer tools. The Pi Core team noted:
On the other hand, the Ecosystem Directory Staking initiative has attracted strong engagement, with over 16,700 users staking tokens across more than 1,450 individual apps to enhance their visibility.
Notably, despite the absence of staking rewards, Pioneers have staked a total of 37.7 million Pi coins across the platform. Over 25 million Pi remain actively staked of that amount, underscoring the community’s commitment to supporting the ecosystem.
Pi Network Sees Whale Dumping, Market Sentiment Weakens
The Pi Network remains under selling pressure, with Pi coin whales making major deposits to exchanges. As per the Pi Scan data, there have been nearly 1 million Pi token deposits to exchanges like OKX, MEXC, and others.

These massive deposits to centralized exchanges (CEXs) highlight waning investor sentiment and a bearish outlook, with the Pi Coin price expected to move lower.
Market sentiment surrounding Pi Coin has deteriorated significantly in recent weeks, with weighted sentiment plunging to a three-month low. The decline in optimism raises concerns that investors may begin trimming their positions, potentially putting further downward pressure on Pi Coin’s price.

Will Pi Coin Price Recover From Here?
As of press time, Pi coin price is trading 3.33% up at $0.4536, with daily trading volumes soaring by 15% to more than $105 million. The Bollinger Bands for Pi Coin are tightening, indicating a potential volatility squeeze that could trigger an upward move.
Analysts suggest the Pi Network token may first target the upper band near $0.47, possibly continuing toward the 161.8% Fibonacci extension level at $0.52 if momentum builds.

However, investor sentiment continues to stay bearish with the dampening market sentiment and lack of recovery over the past three weeks. The bearish case scenario suggests that the Pi coin price might drop to its April lows of $0.40.
