Bitcoin BTC bounced strongly above $121,000 this week as traders and analysts pointed to renewed bullish momentum heading into the final quarter of 2025. The recovery came as gold’s rally began to stall, sparking debate over whether liquidity could soon rotate back into digital assets.
The latest data showed gold adding $4.77 trillion in market value over just 45 days, nearly double Bitcoin’s entire market capitalization. “Markets are now starting to view gold and Bitcoin as correlated assets in the same macro trade,” said trader Ash Crypto on X. “Once gold tops out, we will see liquidity flow into Bitcoin. The next BTC pump will melt faces.”
Bitcoin BTC Bounces From $121K Support Zone
Trader Michaël van de Poppe confirmed that Bitcoin had tested key levels before rebounding. “Very strong bounce on Bitcoin, didn’t give me the drop entirely into the box,” he wrote, referring to a buy zone below $121,000. “However, sub-$121K was hit, and Bitcoin bounced up since then.”

Van de Poppe said the structure remained intact for further upside after a short consolidation. “Some more consolidation and then a strong upward trend, including altcoin outperformance,” he added. His comment echoed broader market sentiment expecting Bitcoin to stabilize before resuming its uptrend.

Similarly, trader Crypto Tony noted that the current level around $120,500 might act as a short-term range. “Strength is good,” he said. “We may not dip as far as I thought and may just bounce around here.” Tony added he remained long from his $109,500 entry, suggesting confidence in Bitcoin’s broader trend continuation.
Institutions Hold 3.88 Million Bitcoin BTC as Supply Tightens
While traders debate the short-term direction, long-term investors have continued to accumulate. “Bitcoin on exchanges drops to a six-year low while big firms keep buying,” reported That Martini Guy ₿. According to his post, 344 institutions now collectively hold over 3.88 million BTC.

This tightening supply narrative remains a recurring theme in 2025. Institutional demand has grown as more asset managers and corporations view Bitcoin as digital gold amid high inflation and weakening fiat yields. The drop in exchange reserves reinforces that trend, suggesting fewer coins available for trading as investors move holdings to cold storage or custodial wallets.
Such accumulation typically precedes strong rallies, historically marking periods when sell pressure fades and long-term holders dominate the market structure.
Gold’s Surge Fuels Bitcoin Liquidity Forecast
Gold’s recent surge reshaped investor behavior across markets. The metal added nearly $5 trillion in value in under two months, extending its dominance as a safe-haven asset. Yet analysts believe that once gold’s momentum peaks, capital could rotate back into risk assets, especially Bitcoin.

“Markets are now treating gold and Bitcoin as correlated trades,” said Ash Crypto, highlighting a potential macro setup where both assets benefit from weakening global currencies and geopolitical risk hedging. “Once gold tops out, Bitcoin will take its place as liquidity flows back into crypto.”
His view aligns with historical patterns where gold rallies often precede Bitcoin cycles, as investors shift from defensive to growth positioning. With gold possibly nearing exhaustion, traders are closely watching for early signs of capital rotation.
Historical Q4 Gains Reinforce Bullish Outlook
Bitcoin’s seasonal data adds another layer to the bullish narrative. Historically, Q4 has delivered some of Bitcoin’s strongest returns. According to Ash Crypto, Bitcoin averaged a 20% gain in October, a 46% gain in November, and a 5% gain in December.
Based on those numbers, he projected a potential BTC range between $150,000 and $180,000 by the end of 2025. Although projections remain speculative, past cycles indicate that Bitcoin tends to perform well in the final quarter, supported by renewed institutional flows and year-end portfolio rebalancing.

Meanwhile, trader Ahmed (@CryptoBheem) suggested that Bitcoin may continue to consolidate for another week or two before breaking higher. “We’re going to have one or two weeks of range here, like I stated previously, and throw off a lot of traders until mid-month,” he wrote. “Looking for the green box as my next high-size entry afterward before $150K.”
Traders Eye Next Leg Higher
The combination of low exchange supply, institutional accumulation, and strong Q4 seasonality has strengthened bullish conviction among traders. Although short-term volatility persists, the consensus across analysts like Van de Poppe, Tony, and Ahmed points toward continued accumulation and upside potential.
Bitcoin’s rebound above $121K may prove pivotal if it holds through mid-October. A stable consolidation above this level could attract additional inflows, particularly if gold’s rally cools and liquidity shifts toward risk assets.
Bitcoin remains firmly in the spotlight, buoyed by institutions, emboldened by historical seasonality, and poised for what many believe could be another record-breaking quarter.
