Bitcoin Crypto Death Cross Triggered With 10,000 BTC Hitting Exchanges, What’s Next?

Bitcoin’s selling pressure has intensified further after losing the $100K support last week, triggering a ‘death cross’ pattern on the technical chart. With BTC price wiping out all of its 2025 gains, the largest crypto faces a litmus test. Retail and institutional sentiment is negative as investors dump over 10,000 BTCF to exchanges over the past three days.

Bitcoin Crypto Faces Key Test As Death Cross Triggers

Bitcoin has entered a key decision zone following the formation of a Death Cross, where the 50-day moving average has crossed below the 200-day moving average. This signal typically raises concerns for a broader correction moving ahead.

Bitcoin is currently trading about 25% below its recent highs, following the clearing of excess leverage from the market. Furthermore, short-term MVRV has moved into the capitulation band, showing that a large number of investors are underwater. Market expert CryptosRus stated that this level typically coincides with local bottoms, as per historical trends.

On the other hand, long-term holders haven’t shown signs of capitulation. This group has historically determined whether a Death Cross evolves into a sustained downtrend.

According to the expert, the crypto market conditions now reflect a combination of oversold sentiment, technical fatigue, and rising stablecoin liquidity. Thus, BTC faces a make-or-break situation at present, where it can either establish a base or face further shakeout before momentum returns.

Investors Dump 10,000 Bitcoins Crypto After BTC Losing $100K Support

As soon as the BTC price lost $100K last Friday, investors dumped 10,000 Bitcoins, worth $1 billion, on crypto exchanges in the last 24 hours, according to crypto analyst Ali Martinez. The inflow marks a notable shift in on-chain activity, wherein selling pressure can lead to greater volatility.

Furthermore, analyst Martinez also reports that BTC price has broken out of its existing price channel. This development could pave the way for a move toward the $83,500 level, he added.

On the other hand, crypto analyst Daan Crypto Trades says Bitcoin is approaching a price gap near $92,000 that has remained unfilled since April. The analyst noted that larger gaps tend to be filled eventually, although not always immediately.

In strong trends, both upward and downward, gaps can remain open for extended periods. When filled, they often act as areas for local reversals. The analyst believes that the recent increase in volatility could lead to more and larger gaps forming in the coming weeks.

The latest Strategy Tracker update shows holdings of 641,692 BTC at an average acquisition price of $74,000. The chart, marked with orange dots, highlights previous purchase points. This indicates another sizable buy is scheduled for tomorrow as part of the ongoing dollar-cost averaging (DCA) strategy.

Ark Investor CEO Cathie Wood also remains firm on $1 million BTC price target. She stated that rising global uncertainty and market volatility only strengthen her conviction in BTC’s long-term outlook. She also stated that stablecoins are taking the role of BTC in emerging markets.
