Polymarket will soon allow its users to bet on the potential prices of houses in the US. The blockchain-based prediction platform announced today that it will launch real estate prediction markets for traders.
The move follows its recent partnership with housing data and real estate platform Parcl. Polymarket will use Parcl’s published price indices as a reference for settling such contracts.
Polymarket Partners with Parcl
According to the announcement, the markets will offer a clearer view of the price direction. This is expected to provide an objective forecast of home prices by combining Parcl’s daily indices with Polymarket’s event markets.
It noted that housing is the largest asset class in the world, but determining its price direction is complex due to several reasons. These new markets are expected to facilitate easier trading of housing outcomes.
It said:
“By combining Parcl’s daily indices with Polymarket’s event-market structure, the partnership offers a simpler way to trade housing outcomes, with clear settlement rules and public, auditable resolution data”.
Meanwhile, the initial event contracts will focus on the US housing market, with templates centered on price movements within specific periods. Although no specific dates have been announced for when the markets will be launched, the press release stated that they will be introduced in phases, starting with high-liquidity cities.
Speaking about the partnership, Trevor Bacon, CEO of Parcl, noted the company’s excitement about the partnership. He noted that prediction markets represent a shift in the way truth is identified.
He said:
“Parcl is the source of truth for real-estate pricing, and we believe real estate should be a major category within the prediction-market ecosystem. Polymarket is a pioneer in the space, and we’re excited to partner with them.”
Prediction Market Continues Expansion
Meanwhile, the launch of real estate prediction markets demonstrates the sector’s continued growth, with contracts covering a range of industries. While earlier event contracts primarily focused on political topics, prediction markets now encompass a wider range of fields, including sports, culture, economics, science, and more.
Sports event contracts have been a major driving force behind the sector’s growth this year. The top two prediction market platforms, Kalshi and Polymarket, had over $44 billion in trading volume for 2025.
However, competitors are already emerging with DraftKings, Robinhood, FanDuel, and crypto exchanges such as Gemini and Crypto.com also showing interest. A sign of the growing competition is already evident, as seen in Opinion.

The blockchain-based prediction platform backed by YZi, the VC firm of Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao, has seen its volume grow significantly in recent months. In December, it recorded over $6 billion in volume, enough to surpass Polymarket and rank second for the month, behind Kalshi.
Interestingly, the hype around prediction markets has continued into 2026, especially after one trader profited over $400,000 on an event. The trader had bet around $34,000 on several positions related to Venezuela, including the prediction that President Nicolas Maduro would be removed before January 31. They made a profit of almost $410,000 on the bets.
