Crypto News: Crypto Funds Close 2025 With $47.2B in Net Inflows

Digital asset investment products ended 2025 with net inflows of $47.2 billion, according to a Digital Asset Fund Flows 2025 report by James Butterfill. The total came in just below 2024’s $48.7 billion and kept annual demand near record levels. Crypto news tracking weekly allocations also showed the new year opened with volatile sessions that still produced a net positive week. The report recorded $671 million in inflows on Friday and $582 million in net weekly inflows, following earlier outflows.

Crypto News: $47.2B Pours Into Crypto Funds in 2025

Recent crypto news described 2025 flows as concentrated in large, widely held products, with most demand flowing to a small set of names. It stated that subscriptions and redemptions remained sensitive to short-term price fluctuations, with midweek selling followed by late-week buying. Those patterns left the year-end total close to the prior year’s peak.

Net inflows refer to money entering products after accounting for withdrawals, and they can shift quickly with time. For crypto news readers, the opening-week swing showed that risk appetite still depended on trading conditions, even as the week finished positively. The report framed the result as a strong start, despite the choppy path to the final tally.

U.S. Leads Crypto Funds Flow

The United States accounted for the majority of 2025 inflows, totaling $47.2 billion, a 12% drop from 2024. The crypto news said the scale of U.S. demand continued to set the direction for global totals, even as smaller regions posted noticeable changes. It also noted that U.S. flows dominated the year’s net figure by a wide margin.

Germany recorded the largest turnaround, with $2.5 billion in inflows in 2025, after $43 million in outflows in 2024. Canada also shifted, posting $1.1 billion in inflows in 2025, compared to $603 million in outflows the previous year. Switzerland added $775 million in inflows, up 11.5% year over year, indicating steady participation alongside the larger reversals.

Amid continued crypto fund flows, 48 jurisdictions began collecting CARF transaction data on January 1, 2026. The OECD’s Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework requires crypto-asset service providers to capture taxable activity data for later reporting and exchange.

A further 27 jurisdictions are scheduled to start collecting from January 1, 2027, for exchanges that begin later.

Bitcoin Inflows Cool in 2025

Bitcoin investment products brought in $26.9 billion in 2025, representing a 35% decline from the prior year. The report tied the weaker annual total to periods of price falls that coincided with softer demand for long exposure across several weeks. Even with the decline, Bitcoin remained the largest recipient of net inflows by dollar value.

Those drawdowns coincided with $105 million of inflows into short-bitcoin products over 2025. However, the report described the segment as small, with total assets under management of $139 million.

Crypto news coverage treats short products as a hedge proxy, and the limited AuM suggested that usage stayed restricted to a narrower segment of investors. The report also characterized the category as niche relative to long-only allocations.

Ethereum, XRP, and Solana Gain

According to CoinShares data, Ethereum recorded $12.7 billion in inflows in 2025, a 138% increase year over year, making it the strongest gainer among major assets by growth rate. XRP inflows rose 500% to $3.7 billion, while Solana inflows increased 1000% to $3.6 billion, according to the report. The figures indicated a shift toward select altcoins rather than a broad market movement.

Combined, Ethereum, XRP, and Solana attracted approximately $20.0 billion in 2025 inflows, according to the figures in the report. The crypto news contrasted that result with the $318 million assigned to the remaining altcoins. It described the distribution as concentrated across the broader altcoin market.
