PI Network Price Bearish Under $0.18 Despite Rising Testnet USDT Use

Pi Network is scaling real-world testing with its new testnet USDT wallet. This move encourages user engagement ahead of the mainnet. Despite technical progress, the Pi price trades under pressure below the $0.18 level.

Pi Network Extends Testnet Utility With Simulated USDT Functionality

Pi Network is speeding up the adoption of its ecosystem with the simulated USDT feature in its testnet wallet. The feature lets users try DeFi utilities. They perform peer-to-peer transfers, liquidity pools, and swaps. It simulates real-world decentralized finance operations.

According to community-driven account Pi Network Alerts, the team is encouraging pioneers to engage more actively with the testnet. Participants can interact without any real financial risk involved, so this is a purely educational experience.

The testnet is considered a necessary stage in preparing for full mainnet deployment. This is a practical training that helps users build their confidence in using decentralized tools.

The simulated stablecoin allows the Pi community to learn how DeFi products behave in real life. Additionally, the test environment allows for the identification of bugs and interface challenges.

The ultimate goal is to prepare the user base for smoother adoption and real-time operations once the mainnet is fully live.

Testnet Engagement Soars as Community Participation Grows

Data provided by screenshots by community testers further revealed the fact that almost 59,000 test USDT have already been circulated through the wallet. These displays signal increasing interaction as users send, receive, and administer digital assets in a controlled space.

The interface of the Pi testnet wallet is similar to the real DeFi platforms. By that, the network allows pioneers to acquire experience without the consequence of monetary losses. The opportunity to experiment before committing real value means that there is a greater understanding of financial utilities by users.

The Pi Network team is also using this phase to get important behavioral feedback. Metrics such as transaction volume and wallet activity provide insight into how users may interact with the real platform in the future. This feedback is useful to help shape updates and improvements before full-scale implementation.

Investor Sentiment Worsens as PI Tokens Experience Heavy CEX Inflows

Despite developments on the testnet front, Pi Network’s native token (PI) is coming under intense pressure in the open market.

PiScan data shows heavy activity. Over 1.3 million PI tokens moved to centralized exchanges. This surge happened within just 24 hours. The majority of these, about 1.12 million, went to the OKX exchange.

This comes at the same time as a general drop in market confidence. According to CoinMarketCap’s fear and greed index, current sentiment is at 29, which falls in the “fear” category.

Usually, a reading below 20 indicates extreme market fear, which can lead to sharp declines.

Sustained token inflows to exchanges typically signal preparation for a liquidation. This trend, in combination with weak sentiment, puts the Pi token at a higher risk of further downside. The token is not performing as well now compared to other top altcoins such as Ethereum, BNB, and Solana.

The current macro environment has made investors more cautious. Liquidity is fragile, and broader regulatory uncertainty continues to impact capital flows. As a result, a lot of holders seem to be repositioning or exiting trades on PI on the short end.

Technical Indicators Suggest Bearish Trend for Pi Network Price to $0.15

When writing, Pi Network was trading near $0.1744, which marked a small 1% intraday gain after it dropped by 5%. However, this rebound does little to offset the over 13% weekly loss.

Technically, the outlook is still bleak. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) on the daily chart levels at 22, which is deep in oversold territory. This indicates that the sellers are still dominating the market.

In addition, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) remains lower than the signal line and neutral zero level.

If the current situation continues, PI may test the January 19 low at $0.1502 again. This is now a crucial support. A breakdown below this could lead to further selling and accelerate losses.

If sentiment shifts, price may rebound near $0.2000. Rising volume can fuel the move. The 50-day EMA sits close at $0.2045.

This is still unlikely to happen unless the broader market sentiment improves or the network offers major updates.
