Why is Circle President on a Selling Spree as CRCL Stock Crashes to $60?

USDC stablecoin issuer Circle Internet Group has had a rough time on Wall Street over the past year. The company’s NYSE-listed CRCL stock has corrected by 75% over the past year, leaving investors confused. Furthermore, it turns out that Circle President Heath Tarbert has been on a major selling spree over the past year, liquidating over $30 million worth of CRCL shares.

According to the SEC Form 4 filings, Circle President and former CFTC Chairman Heath Tarbert has sold approximately $30.77 million worth of CRCL shares since June 2025.

The filings show Tarbert completed 10 transactions during the period, primarily involving stock sales and option exercises. Despite the sales, he continues to hold roughly 503,000 CRCL shares, with no disclosed open-market purchases.

Speaking on the CRCL stock price collapse from $262 to $60 in just one year, Circle President Tarbert said that the company remains focused on its long-term strategy.

Speaking to FOX Business on July 14, 2026, Tarbert said Circle is focused on building a full-stack internet financial infrastructure. He added that if the company succeeds in its mission, “the stock will take care of itself” over the long term.

Tarbert also addressed the threats concerning the new Open USD consortium, which includes giants like Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, and Google. Speaking on this, he said that the USDC’s network effects, supported by $73 billion in circulation and native integration across 34 blockchains, would be difficult to replicate.

Analysts Remain Bullish On Circle (CRCL) Stock

Despite the major fall in CRCL’s stock price, analysts continue to remain bullish about its future. A crypto market analyst, Team LAMBO, believes that the Circle (CRCL) stock presents a major long-term buying opportunity.

He said this after the CRCL stock price retraced to a key order block (OB) support zone. According to the analyst, CRCL, currently trading around $60, could rebound toward $84 on the weekly timeframe if the support level holds.

The analyst added that the stock’s all-time low sits just below $50, making the current price area a critical level for a potential bullish reversal.

Similarly, crypto analyst Chapo said that he plans to further increase his position in Circle. While calling CRCL as his preferred stock, the analyst said that traditional banks view the company as a competitive threat. On the other hand, Visa is trying to replicate a payments infrastructure that Circle has spent the past eight years developing.

Chapo compared investing in Circle at current levels to buying PayPal in the early 2000s. He believes that the CRCL stock is well-positioned to benefit from a structural shift in digital finance.

Cathie Wood Buys Circle Shares

Amid the strong fall in Circle’s stock price, big market players see an opportunity to buy at the support zone. Last week on July 14, Cathie Wood’s Ark Invest purchased an additional 220,000 shares of Circle (CRCL) valued at approximately $13.9 million. The firm has continued to increase its exposure to the USDC stablecoin issuer over the past month.
