Ethereum price approached $2,000 after recovering from its late-June low near $1,570. ETH also moved above a descending channel highlighted by technical analyst El Crypto Prof, improving the recovery structure on his weekly chart.
The rebound coincided with several large on-chain purchases, but Ethereum still faces resistance around $2,000, $2,200 and $2,400. A sustained recovery toward higher analyst targets would require ETH to clear those levels.
Ethereum Price Tests Major $2,000 Resistance
Ethereum price currently trades near $1,965 after climbing from the June support area around $1,500. That rebound has placed ETH directly below $2,000, a psychological level that previously stopped several recovery attempts.
Analyst Ted identified $2,000 as the next major hurdle following the recent increase in spot demand. His chart indicates that a successful reclaim could send Ethereum toward the highs recorded during May.

Recent price action also shows buyers protecting the region between $1,800 and $1,850. Demand around this zone helped stabilize ETH after the earlier decline and provided the base for its latest upward move.
ETH now needs a clear break above the $2,000–$2,030 range. Holding above that area could expose $2,200 before traders shift their attention toward the stronger resistance near $2,400.
Ethereum Escapes Long-Term Downtrend
Furthermore, Ethereum has also broken above a descending channel that directed price action for several months. El Crypto Prof highlighted the move after ETH crossed the upper boundary of the broader downward structure.

Weekly chart activity shows that Ethereum established support around $1,500 before beginning its current rebound. Moving outside the channel suggests buyers are gradually changing a market structure previously controlled by sellers.
Resistance around $2,400 now represents the next major technical challenge. Sellers rejected earlier recovery attempts from this region, making it an important level for any sustained trend reversal.
Whale Buying Strengthens ETH Recovery
Ethereum whale activity has increased while the asset tests its current resistance range. Lookonchain reported that three newly created wallets used $50.04 million in DAI to acquire 25,425 ETH.
Their average purchase price stood near $1,968, placing the transactions close to Ethereum’s current market value. This activity signals strong demand around the $1,950–$1,970 region despite the nearby resistance.
Large purchases can also provide additional support during periods of short-term volatility. In this case, the accumulation follows Ethereum’s rebound from June lows and the continued defense of higher support levels.
Whale demand does not guarantee that ETH will continue rising. Buyers still need stronger market participation and confirmed breakouts before Ethereum can sustain movement toward its larger targets.
Ethereum Price Eyes $2,400 After Breakout
Crypto King also pointed to Ethereum’s July performance, with ETH gaining approximately 24.76% during the month. Based on that recovery, the analyst raised the possibility of a return toward $3,000 before Q3 2026 ends.
Such a move would require Ethereum to clear $2,400 and several former consolidation zones. Those areas may attract renewed selling from traders who entered during the earlier decline.
Notably, Ethereum’s present structure leaves the asset at an important turning point. Ted’s chart suggests that reclaiming $2,000 could reopen the path toward previous highs and resistance around $2,200.
Ethereum’s immediate outlook centres on the $2,000–$2,030 resistance region. Sustained trading above that range would strengthen the recovery and place $2,200 and $2,400 in focus. Failure to reclaim $2,000 could return attention to support around $1,850 and $1,800.
The 25,425 ETH purchase added a notable on-chain transaction to the market picture, but the wallets’ ownership and long-term intentions remain unknown. The $3,000 projection therefore remains conditional on ETH clearing several intermediate resistance levels.
