CoreWeave stock closed at $90.13 on Sept. 24 after JPMorgan upgraded the AI infrastructure company. The bank lifted CRWV from Neutral to Overweight and raised its December 2027 target to $125. That target sits about 38.7% above the latest closing price.
The upgrade arrived after months of volatile trading for CoreWeave stock. CRWV reached a 2026 high around $138.25 in May before retreating sharply during the summer. Despite that decline, the company continued reporting rapid revenue growth and stronger compute pricing.
CoreWeave Stock Gets $125 Target From JPMorgan
CRWV stock has pulled back in the past few months and analysts at JPMorgan believe that it may rebound in the near term. In a note, the bank’s analysts boosted their rating from neutral to overweight. They also raised the target price from $120 to $125, suggesting a 42% upside from the current level.
JPMorgan points to numerous catalysts that may boost its shares over time. One of them is pricing, which the bank believes will continue being favorable. Indeed, recent data shows that AI companies are willing to spend a substantial amount of money in leasing GPUs.
The bank also believes that the company has taken a pole position in the neocloud industry, and is beating most of its top rivals like Nebius and IREN. It has already inked large deals with companies like Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic. In its last earnings statement, the company said that its business received a net revenue backlog of over $106 billion.
JPMorgan joins other top companies that have boosted their CoreWeave stock forecast. UBS initiated the company with a buy rating and a target of $120, while Rosenblatt hiked the target to $250. Truist Securities and Goldman Sachs have a target of $165 and $139, respectively.
Despite this optimism, the company maintains a high short interest, a sign that many investors expect the stock to retreat over time.
Strong Growth is Coming at a Cost
The most recent results showed that CoreWeave’s revenue growth is accelerating this year as the artificial intelligence boom gains momentum. Its revenue surged by 112% in the second quarter, well above its guidance and analyst expectations.
The company’s revenue backlog continued to grow, driven by companies across different sectors. While technology companies are the biggest clients, it has also attracted other clients, including Jane Street, the high-frequency trading (HFT) giant. These orders have pushed its revenue backlog to over $104 billion.
The risk, however, is that the growth is coming at a cost. It plans to spend between $35 billion and $39 billion this year, a higher figure than what it predicted. This cost surge was partly because of the ongoing memory, GPU, and server costs.
As a result, CoreWeave has grown its debtload substantially. It ended the last quarter with over $29 billion in debt, much higher than what it had last year. It has also continued to dilute its shareholders, with the total outstanding shares rising sharply to 457 million, up from 317 million at the time of its IPO last year.
The company is also contending with a highly competitive industry, with companies like Nscale and SpaceX gaining some market share.
CRWV Stock Price Technical Analysis

CoreWeave is also facing substantial technical risks. It has formed a head-and-shoulders pattern, a common bearish reversal sign in technical analysis. It is now hovering slightly above the important support level of $67.98, its lowest level in November and December last year, and March and July this year.
The stock has also slipped below the 50-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA). Therefore, there is a risk that the stock will have a strong bearish breakout, potentially to $50. This view will be confirmed if it moves below the neckline at $67.98.
