Key Insights:
- Bitcoin price can drop 30% without entering a bear market.
- Whales accumulated 28K+ BTC, signaling strong long-term confidence.
- Post-halving cycle suggests Bitcoin price has more room to rise.
Bitcoin News remains bullish despite recent market corrections, with CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju stating that even a 30% drop would not indicate a bear market in 2025. Historical trends support his claim, showing that similar corrections in past cycles did not disrupt Bitcoin’s long-term growth.
Bitcoin Price Can Survive a $77K Drop
Bitcoin has struggled to reclaim the $100,000 level, but Ki Young Ju believes the bull cycle remains intact. He explained in a series of posts on X that Bitcoin could drop as low as $77,000 and still maintain an upward trajectory.

“I don’t think we’ll enter a bear market this year,” Ki said, noting that even if Bitcoin drops from $110,000 to $77,000, it would still be within the historical correction range seen in previous cycles.
He also pointed to investor cost basis data, emphasizing that BTC remains above key levels that determine whether the market remains bullish. He flagged $89,000 as a crucial support level, especially considering that this is the average cost basis for U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) investors.
Bitcoin Holds Above Critical Support Zones
While Bitcoin’s price hovers near $96,300, data from Glassnode suggests that a breakdown below this level could trigger further downside toward $80,100. The MVRV Z-Score, which assesses Bitcoin’s fair value relative to historical trends, indicates that $80,100 serves as a key support point where long-term holders are likely to step in and accumulate.

Historical patterns show that the -1.5σ threshold of $80,100 has repeatedly acted as a bottom during corrections. If Bitcoin fails to hold above $96,300, short-term holders may capitulate, leading to increased volatility and a potential retest of lower support zones.
Meanwhile, CryptoQuant analysts highlighted that whales have been accumulating BTC. Over 28,000 BTC recently flowed into accumulation addresses, typically linked to over-the-counter (OTC) deals and long-term holdings.
Bitcoin News: Post-Halving Gains Still Incomplete
CryptoQuant analyst Timo Oinonen suggested that Bitcoin’s current cycle still has room for more upside. He noted that since the April 2024 block subsidy halving, BTC has only gained around 60%. Historically, post-halving cycles have produced stronger gains, and Oinonen believes this trend will continue.

Oinonen predicts short-term volatility, including a potential “sell in May” effect, followed by a period of sideways movement. However, Bitcoin News suggests that price action may recover in Q4 2025, aligning with historical end-of-year rallies observed in 2013, 2016, 2017, 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2024.
“A deeper correction could be multiple months or even a year away,” Oinonen stated, reinforcing the belief that Bitcoin’s long-term trend remains bullish.
Despite recent market fluctuations, analysts agree that Bitcoin’s bull run remains intact. Even a 30% drop would still be within the expected range for a healthy correction rather than a trend reversal. With whales accumulating, institutional investors maintaining strong positions, and historical data supporting further price appreciation, Bitcoin News suggests that Bitcoin price could regain momentum as 2025 unfolds.
