Key Insights:
- ADA’s recent price drop follows a familiar trend, hinting at a possible rebound ahead.
- More whales are stacking ADA, while long-term holders show growing confidence in the asset.
- A rise in new and active addresses suggests the Cardano ecosystem is gaining traction.
Cardano (ADA) has seen sharp price swings between March 26 and April 2, 2025. Despite peaking at $0.77 on March 26, Cardano price slipped steadily to $0.6676. It dropped 0.9% in the past 24 hours, with little sign of an immediate recovery.
Still, analysts remain optimistic about a potential rebound. Some believe ADA could follow previous bullish trajectories, suggesting that if historical patterns hold, another rally could be ahead.
A Potential Breakout for Cardano Price
An analyst tracking ADA’s price movement on a weekly chart highlights its performance within an ascending channel. The chart, which traces ADA’s price from before 2019 to 2025, shows the cryptocurrency’s consistent upward movement.

ADA has fluctuated within this trend channel, occasionally breaking through its boundaries, with these breakouts marked with circles. The analyst has identified two potential resistance levels for ADA, with the upper bound at $2.7567 and a longer-term target at $40 to $50.
Notably, ADA saw significant movement in 2021, when its price surged from around $0.20 to $2.70 before returning to a downward trend. This historical surge provides some context for the current expectations.
The 2021 rally from $0.20 to $2.70 supports this view. If ADA breaks above current resistance levels, Cardano price could repeat a similar uptrend.
Holder Trends Signal Future Growth
Meanwhile, data obtained from X show that whale activity has increased for ADA. In the last one week, whales have bought 240 million ADA tokens, thus amassing total stakes of 3.27 billion tokens by March 25.
Such an increase in whale accumulation tends to signal future price hikes. The growing whale activity around ADA indicates potential bullish momentum, although the market price has not yet reflected this increase.

Besides whales’ activity patterns, other major holder activity metrics reflect the increasing confidence in Cardano over the long term. Long-term holders (those holding ADA for more than a year) have seen a +1.81% change, indicating a steady increase in holders who believe in ADA’s future value.
Moreover, medium-term holders, those who have held ADA between 1 and 12 months, have surged a +7.65%, signaling optimism about ADA’s price potential in the near term.

In contrast, short-term traders have shown a decrease of -11.75%, reflecting a reduction in speculative trading. This change might suggest that ADA investors are now staring at long-term investment.
Increased Network Activity: A Positive Trend for Cardano Price
On the network activity front, the situation is rather positive, as Cardano blockchain keeps on expanding. The number of new addresses has increased by 4.79% in the last one week, suggesting new subscriptions are emerging in the Cardano ecosystem.

This increase in the number of newly created addresses is a good sign with regard to the ADA’s acceptance as well as its previous performance.
The number of active addresses also jumped by 11.99%, signaling increased user interaction with the network. In addition, addresses with zero balance have decreased by 12.26%, suggesting more users are holding ADA rather than exiting the ecosystem.
These on-chain metrics suggest that, despite price pressure, Cardano’s user base continues to grow, potentially laying the groundwork for a sustained long-term recovery.
