Key Insights:
- Dogecoin price faced major resistance at $0.36, with minimal on-chain selling pressure below this level.

Dogecoin (DOGE) price generated fresh interest among traders and analysts after a combination of indicators on the technical and derivatives sides signaled a breakout. The meme coin approached a crucial resistance level, and derivatives data favored buyers. Consequently, speculation of a likely retest of its all-time high soon was gaining momentum.
Dogecoin Price Approaches $0.36 With Limited Resistance Below
Remarkably, recent on-chain statistics implied that Dogecoin exchange value was exchanged in a region with minimal realized price barriers. A UTXO Realized Price Distribution (URPD) analysis published by Glassnode has shown that in the past, most of the trading would have taken place far above or well below the present price range.

In addition, this indicated little selling pressure from holders who acquired DOGE within this band, allowing for smoother upward moves. The most notable cluster of on-chain volume was situated near $0.36, where over 5.2 billion DOGE were previously transacted.
Furthermore, this was a major resistance point on this price level. Until such a zone is reached, there was minimal resistance by the historical holders, and a price rally was more evident. If $0.36 is breached, DOGE could encounter less resistance toward an all-time high.
Technical Structure Points Toward Continuation Above $0.50
On a daily chart, Dogecoin price has recently broken an Ichimoku Cloud resistance, which has not happened in months. This break above the cloud was ascending out of the neutral or bearish zone into a bullish state.

Expanding price candles and increasing trading volume supported the meme coin breakout, which further supported the bullish structure. Additionally, DOGE price has cleared horizontal resistance levels around $0.22 to $0.24 and was consolidating just below $0.30.
A projected path suggested that price could climb toward $0.50 if momentum continues. This trajectory would align with previous peaks and could form the basis for a retest of the all-time high.
Derivatives Market Sentiment Favors Bulls
More so, Dogecoin derivatives data signaled increased leveraged traders’ traffic. The total trading volume over the past 24-hour period increased by 4%, to $19.74 billion, and the open interest grew by 3.54%, to $5.19 billion. Such increments were indications of new capital coming in.

Additionally, options open interest rose 13.8% to $2.49 million, but total options volume dipped 27.3%. It indicated that more traders preferred futures to hedged options positions.
Moreover, long/short ratios from major exchanges supported a bullish bias. The long/short ratio on Binance was 3.10, with leading traders having a greater long exposure of 4.47. OKX also demonstrated a long/short ratio exceeding 2.60, signaling retail/institutional players were gearing up towards an upside.
Short Liquidations Accelerate as DOGE Price Rises
Over the last 24 hours, short positions totaling $8.96 million have been liquidated on Dogecoin derivative markets. This number more than doubled long liquidations, which closed only $3.25 million long positions simultaneously.
Subsequently, the liquidation imbalance indicated that most traders who had bet against DOGE were forced to close their positions as the price continued to rise. The largest concentration of short liquidations occurred in the past 4 hours, with over $989,000 in shorts closed.
Hence, this increase in forced buybacks provided some upward pressure on prices, which can cause further fluctuations as the market stabilizes. If short exposure continues to unwind in similar volume, it may further support the rally to an all-time high.
