Solana (SOL) rebounded above $200 after Galaxy Digital’s $50 million Binance deposit, fueling optimism among traders as analysts eyed $250 as the next resistance amid improving technical structure.
Galaxy Digital’s $50M Solana Crypto Move Sparks Market Reaction
Solana Crypto (SOL) reclaimed the $200 level on Oct. 15 after Galaxy Digital moved 250,000 SOL, worth roughly $50 million, to Binance. The transfer, first reported by Coin Bureau and Whale Insider, drew attention amid a fragile market recovery following last week’s selloff.

The move came as traders watched for signs of renewed institutional activity in high-beta altcoins. Galaxy Digital’s deposit coincided with an uptick in Solana’s daily volume and a 1.2% price gain to $204.84 at press time, according to TradingView data.
Coin Bureau posted on X, “JUST IN: GALAXY DIGITAL HAS DEPOSITED 250,000 $SOL (+$50M) TO BINANCE.” The post triggered speculation among traders about Galaxy’s intentions, though no official statement accompanied the transaction.
Solana Crypto Breaks Out of 18-Month Range
Market analyst Jelle noted that Solana had “broken an 18-month-long reaccumulation range, retested it successfully, and now bounces back higher.” His chart showed SOL recovering after a textbook retest of its breakout zone near $180, an area that served as support during last week’s correction.

At the time of writing, Solana was trading between $200 and $208, maintaining gains above the 200-day simple moving average (SMA) at $173.41. Technical indicators indicated that the Ichimoku Cloud was turning mildly bullish, with the price reclaiming the conversion line near $202.
Jelle added, “Back above $200, once we clear $250 — the sky is the limit.” His comment reflected improving sentiment, though traders remain cautious given the broader market’s weak liquidity profile.
Solana Crypto Technical Chart Shows Solid Support Base
Solana’s daily chart highlighted a strong bounce from the 200-day SMA — a key long-term support level. The recent retest reinforced the strength of buyers near that zone, preventing a deeper pullback below $180.

The 50-day SMA at $216.96 remains the next technical barrier to reclaim. A daily close above that level could pave the way for another attempt toward the $250 zone mentioned by Jelle.
Ichimoku metrics also point to recovery momentum. The baseline (Kijun-sen) sits near $205, aligning with the current price. If SOL consolidates above it, bulls could push toward the upper cloud resistance near $220 in the coming sessions.
TradingView data shows rising buying pressure after a volatile start to October. Despite recent selling, Solana’s market structure remains intact compared with other altcoins that failed to recover from last week’s flash crash.
Institutional Interest Returns to Solana
Galaxy Digital’s deposit underscores renewed institutional attention on Solana, one of the few layer-1 networks that has shown consistent developer activity and liquidity growth this year. The timing of the deposit, immediately following Bitcoin’s sharp rebound from $57,000 to $62,000, suggests that institutional investors are diversifying their exposure across the top-performing assets.
Although the transfer to Binance might represent internal fund movement rather than direct selling, it still drew scrutiny. Some traders viewed the action as a sign that Galaxy could be rebalancing positions following the recent market volatility. Others interpreted it as preparation for liquidity management on centralized exchanges.
Regardless of motive, the move placed Solana back in focus as traders looked for high-volume setups amid low volatility elsewhere. The network’s strong performance during the summer months, driven by rising DeFi and NFT volumes, has kept it among the top institutional assets by trading volume.
Market Awaits Next Move Toward $250
Solana’s immediate resistance lies near $216, followed by $250, the upper bound of its summer rally range. The coin’s ability to sustain above $200 remains key for maintaining bullish momentum through late October.
Technical data suggests a stable recovery path if volume continues to rise. The daily RSI has rebounded from oversold territory, now hovering near neutral levels. Combined with improving moving average alignment, the setup leans cautiously bullish.
Still, traders are watching broader market cues. Bitcoin’s consolidation and Ethereum’s ETF-driven flows could influence Solana’s direction in the coming sessions. A favorable risk-on environment may push SOL to retest its prior highs above $250, while a reversal in market sentiment could trap price below $200 again.
Solana’s Outlook Strengthens After Turbulent Week
Despite the turbulence that swept across the cryptocurrency market earlier this month, Solana remains one of the stronger recovery plays. Its swift rebound from below $180 reflects solid market structure and sustained interest from both retail and institutional players.
Galaxy Digital’s $50 million move added fuel to that recovery narrative, positioning Solana among the most-watched large-cap tokens this week. With improving technicals and renewed attention from major firms, traders now look to the $250 mark as the next decisive level.
For now, Solana’s ability to hold above key moving averages, while reclaiming short-term cloud support, suggests the bullish narrative remains intact, although volatility is likely to persist.
